You didn't tell Jungkook what Jimin had said about your father hiding his real appearance. You didn't tell him mainly because it would've meant staying there for longer, talking about the bad things your father had done and... frankly, that was the last thing you wanted to do on that Sunday. You asked Jungkook to drive you back home, and he asked you again to keep whatever he had told you a secret. You promised not to say anything, and he apologised for giving you such shocking news.
"I wouldn't dare to ask you to help me with bringing your father to us, but I must be sure you won't get in our way."
You took a deep, shaky breath and looked away. "He is my father."
"He is a criminal."
You wanted to say something to him, to remind him that no matter how many bad things he'd done, you would always remember him as the kind and understanding father he had always been to you. It was hard to even think that he was capable of doing something like that, let alone be okay with him being arrested. Or whatever SOSB did with criminals with magic. "I know, but he is still my father. Don't ask me to be happy with whatever you will do to him."
"I would never."
You nodded, and accepted the helmet he was handing you without adding anything else.
The ride back home was silent, just as the ride towards the hill. The only difference was that now you knew very well why Jungkook looked upset and nervous, and you weren't too sure if you would've preferred not to know or to know about it. It was making your heart ache, and you didn't bear pain too well - you realised a long time ago, since you had a crush on Yoongi, that your heart couldn't take the suffering so well. You could say you were weak, but you weren't ashamed of that.
After thanking and saying goodbye to Jungkook, you walked towards the front door with shaking hands and irregular breathing. "How am I supposed to face him after discovering all of that?"
Jimin appeared next to your side. "You are capable of doing anything, little doll. Straighten your back, push your shoulders back, lift your chin up and put on that beautiful..." he stopped briefly, probably unsure about going on or not. In the end, he decided to continue. "Smile of yours. Ignore him as you enter. Let him think that you're still a bit upset with him because of this morning."
You nodded, listening to every advice Jimin was giving you. Then, you opened the door and your nostrils were invaded with the exquisite smell of your mother's banana bread. A beautiful, genuine smile appeared on your face and you rapidly left your shoes at the entrance. "Mum, it's been ages since you last made banana bread."
Your mother smiled at you as you entered the kitchen. "I wanted to see you happy after this morning. I didn't like the way you and your father argued."
The mention of your dad caused your smile to falter for a bit, but you managed to keep it on your lips. "It's okay, I'm okay. How long will it take? I'm so hungry."
"Maybe... twenty minutes more?"
"Ugh, I can't wait!"
"Honey, can we talk?" Your dad's voice came so suddenly and unexpectedly that you failed to pretend.
Your smile dropped and you felt your heart race kicking up almost immediately. "I..."
"I just want to apologise" he walked towards you, with sadness in his eyes and sincerity in his voice.
You looked down, unable to make eye contact with him. Were you going to imagine him killing one of the fairies if you had looked him in the eyes? Or would you have pictured him doing a spell and ending a girl's life just because she didn't do as he pleased? No... I can't look at him, Jimin is wrong - I'm not capable of everything, I'm a cowa-
