When you saw the lights in Ekko's window your heart gave a leap. Of course, you wanted to tell him everything that had just happened to you. You needed his company to be able to gather yourself and finally stop the shaking of your body. And still, you hesitated in front of his door, not being able to decide whether to knock in or not.

What if he had already fallen asleep and just left the lights on? You didn't want to wake him up if that really was the case and rob him of the little sleep he could get. You nervously fiddled with your fingers, finally deciding to try, and knock, but only barely audible.

A few seconds had passed and nothing happened. You were just about to turn your back on the door and leave, when the entrance finally opened, and the young firelight's tired face greeted you. The lights drew an orange contour around his body as he looked at you. First, he seemed surprised to see you, but then furrowed his brows and stepped aside, so that you could enter.

"It's late, Y/N." He said plainly and didn't look your way anymore as he walked back to his desk. He seemed strangely... distant?

"I know..." you mumbled, feeling your embarrassment rise with each passing second. "I'm sorry, I just... I needed to talk to you..." you said, looking away. "But I can come back another time..." you stepped back towards the door, seeing from the corner of your eyes that the boy finally decided to look at you.

"What happened to your face?" He asked right away. Oh. Your face. You forgot about your face completely, even though it still hurt you like hell. You probably had a huge bruise formed by now, where your brother had hit you. "Where have you been, Y/N?" he stepped to you. You saw his gaze searching for more injuries all over your body.

"I went back to see my brother..." you started but Ekko cut you off.

"On your own?!" he was so sudden you had to blink in your surprise.

"Yeah...? He's my brother..." you answered furrowing your brows but you saw it on the boy's expression that he wasn't happy with your answer.

"You shouldn't have gone there alone... Why didn't you tell me?" he sighed. He brushed through his hair tiredly, stepping away from you to search for something around his table.

"Because I didn't want to bother you with my problems..." you said honestly. And it was true. Ekko had thousands of other things he had to worry about now, you didn't want to just stack your brother on top of it all. You saw him take a rag into his hands and then a bottle of water, walking towards his window.

"And what if I tell you that I want to be bothered by your problems?" he asked, pouring some of the water onto the rag he held outside the window. He put the bottle down onto his table and walked back to you, to push the wet cloth against your left cheek, gently starting to clean your face up.

"Why?" you looked away, feeling your complexion warm up for the kind gesture." You have enough to worry about..." but he cut you off again.

"Because I care for you! That's why..." he said fiercely, pausing with the cleaning of your face. All you could do was just stare at him, your eyes as big as a pair of coasters and your mind trying to process his words.

He cared for you... That was almost like he...

You felt the warmness inside your chest right away, getting hotter with each beat of your own heart. "I thought that was clear..." he sighed and the puckers around his nose were so deep as he grimaced indignantly to himself... You watched him and felt the same kind of longing inside your stomach you'd already felt in the afternoon but this time much stronger...

You looked at his lips he pressed together, avoiding your gaze and you couldn't contain yourself anymore.

This time it was you who grabbed his cheeks out of nowhere and pulled him into the most passionate kiss. But he wasn't surprised at all - and didn't even hesitate to kiss you back right away as his arms wrapped around your back.

Your fingers stroked up the sides of his head to entangle with his soft locks and just as you did earlier, you pushed your body against his again. His hug tightened around your waist and your hands reached down his shoulders to push the jacket off his body.

His arms let go of you - his lips still kissing yours - only to help you remove the piece of clothing, simply throwing it to the ground. Your brain almost shut down in the arsenal of feelings that where rushing through your mind. You wanted Ekko more than anything at that moment and you were sure he wanted you just as much - at least his warm erection pushing against your thighs told you so...

He bit your lower lip, tugging it softly before licking the inner part of your upper lip - asking for permission - which, of course, you granted right away. His tongue brushed against yours gently at first but when you licked into his mouth as well, you felt his kiss immediately getting hungrier.

His lips then started wandering along your jawline, nibbling on your delicate skin as he led you backwards and when you let a soft moan escape your throat by his ear, his hips longingly thrusted into yours.

But when you almost reached his bed, he stopped leading you. Even his kisses got more restraint and slower, so you gently parted from his lips and looked into his brown eyes. Your right hand cupped his face and he instantly leaned into your touch, kissing your palm.

"What is it?" you whispered between two huffs and his darkened eyes looked deep back into yours, searching for something in your gaze. Before answering, he took a few deep breaths to calm himself down and then placed his chin onto the top of your head. Both of his huge hands now wrapped around your back and he pulled you into the warmest hug.

"Nothing... I'm just glad you're okay..." Ekko said and his body slowly started rocking you, making you feel like you were in a cradle. You started following his movements and you both seemed like a couple, dancing to a slow song - the only difference was that there was no music playing for you.

Your mind was desperately trying to find out what you were doing wrong as you buried yourself into his neck. It was the second time already he stopped before anything could have happened...

He then, after a little while, leaned back to look into your eyes again. You could see a strange kind of longing sparkle in his gaze and yet, with one last kiss onto your forehead, he gently let go of you.

"We should get some rest." He said and by your hand, he pulled you towards his bed.
