You didn't want to wake up. You were too tired and drained for that and your mind was covered in a pleasant fog of oblivion. But that noise... It kept repeating itself, echoing through your mind louder and louder each time.

Your brain couldn't really register what you heard, it was just there and it somehow worried you - apart from being annoying.

Cling. Cling. Cling.

You frowned and opened your eyelids that felt heavier than ever in the complete darkness. It was still late at night - around you it was almost pitch black, apart from the weak light of the moon outside Ekko's window, painting a silver square on the wooden floor by his table. Judged by the silence, everyone was asleep, probably.

Ekko slept on his back and your head rested on his warm, bare chest, steadily rising and deflating as he breathed. You remembered falling asleep to the sound of his heart peacefully beating under your ears. His left arm, that was under you was wrapped around your shoulder, while your legs entangled with his. You liked this moment; you surely didn't want it to end.

Cling. Cling. Cling.

But this damn noise... You looked at Ekko's stress-free face, happy to see him like this once in a while, before carefully sitting up, gently unwrapping your shoulder of his arm. You tried not to wake him up - he needed the sleep. But you had to investigate the source of the repeating sound that you could now hear was metallic. As if someone banged their fists against a huge piece of metal.

You climbed out of the bed, looking for your own clothes in the complete darkness to dress up before leaving. They were all over the floor - you had to check twice not to put on some of Ekko's accidentally. He shifted a little behind you, making the bed creak under him, as you pulled your top on, but he was too tired to wake up.

You were just going to quickly look around, find out what was making the noise, and then come back to fall asleep again, by the young firelight. Your heart ached as you looked back at his dark silhouette from the opened entrance of his room, but you sighed and made yourself promise inside your head that you were going to be quick.

Your instincts were just telling you to check out what was making the noise. You carefully closed the door behind you and grabbed the hoverboard leaned against the wall. In the absolute silence around you, even your own heartbeat seemed too loud - not talking about the sharp, mechanic noise of the hoverboards engine...

You immediately turned off the device once you got close to the ground and carefully leaned it against the trunk of the huge tree. It was dark outside as well - only the moon's dim light helped you see where you stepped. Here and there a sleepy firelight flew by, but they weren't as active tonight as usually.

Cling. Cling. Cling.

You froze in your place to find out the direction of the noise.

Cling. Cling. Cling.

It was coming from your brother's cell...

Your stomach clenched into a nervous knot as you started heading towards the little, metal door along the curved walls. Your heart pounded against your chest, when you got there and peeked inside the dark premise through the small, barred window on the door - only to see your brother's dark figure hitting the wall with his head...

"Oh, no, Neo..." you sighed sadly as you grabbed the cold, metal bars to lean your face closer. "Don't... Don't do that!" You asked him, watching him hurting himself with such a force, that it made you flinch each time. The metal plates, used to reinforce the room clung after each impact with your brother's head...

His glowing, purple eyes shot towards you when he heard your voice, but seeing you only made him more nervous. You saw how his eyes became shinier, and angry grunts left his huffing body for a few short seconds, before he started banging his head faster and with more strength, whimpering in his pain he caused himself. Your heart broke for the sight...

"You're safe here!" You said quickly. You felt it deep down, in the back of your stomach, that he was distressed because he was afraid, he'd hurt someone... He was always the protective type. Back when you managed to turn him back for a short period of time, he was instantly worried he'd hurt you too... "My friend worked on this room for you and trust me, you can't get out of here..." You smiled weakly at his shadowed figure in the dark, little room. "You can't hurt anyone." You added to reassure him even more.

He didn't stop headbutting the wall, but was his pace really slowing down or were you just imagining? Either way, you decided to talk to him more. You weren't exactly sure whether he could understand your words or not, but you wanted to tell him everything that had happened to you ever since that day, you decided to stole yourself shimmer.

"I think you'll like him." You went on, as you thought about Scar. "He's absolutely a big brother type, just like you." You chuckled a little. "I trust him..."

Neo's whines got quieter, though the banging still hadn't stopped. You let go of the barres, that got warmed up under your touch and turned your back on the door - only to lean against it. You slowly slipped downwards, to sit down. So much for making your little night walking quick...

You longed to be back by Ekko's side, but you couldn't just leave your brother here on his own, when he was clearly stressed, and you talking to him, to calm him down, seemed to be working.

"I have so much to tell you, Neo..." you sighed, pulling your knees up to your chest. Your head rested against the door behind you. "I'm pretty sure you are going to freak out once you'll learn how I got here." You chuckled again." I think I'll keep that part for myself for now..." he would probably call you an idiot and got angry if he could talk and you told him about your silly, little plan.

"But I'm so much more independent now. And I've stopped hiding my powers!" Your fingers nervously fiddled with each other as you talked. "There are people out there who are actually talking about me out there... They... They know my name, and what I can do..." you shrugged a little. "I help others - there are so many people in need... Ekko, he's the leader here, constantly works on trying to make this place better for everyone, and it feels good that there's something I can do as well about it."

"You know, Ekko... he helped me grow so much as a person." you smiled brightly to yourself, and felt the hotness inside your chest as you talked about the young firelight. "I think, once I'll heal you properly, and you can get to know each other, you'll like him very much..." you got quiet for a second. The banging stopped. You let out a relieved sigh, glad that Neo wasn't hurting himself anymore...

"He's also like you, you know, in so many aspects." You smiled. "He always wants to help others, and he's honest, clever and, well, he can also be very protective..." Yes. You were sure Neo and Ekko would like each other.

"I'm going to heal you!" You said, determined, into the darkness. "I promise, that I will not rest, until I finally can get you back, Neo." You promised to yourself as well... It was just about time for you to finally start learning to have full control over your own powers.

You thought about going back to sleep. To snug tightly up to Ekko and have him wrapped his arms around your figure... But what if Neo got stressed again? No, you couldn't leave him on his own, one more time. Not anymore...

You yawned into the darkness and lied down to the cold and hard ground under you, using your own arm as a pillow for your head. When you closed your eyes, you honestly believed you wouldn't be able to sleep that night, in such a comfortable position - but only a few minutes later, you fell into a dreamless sleep.
