"Our Secret"

Chapter 22

I considered telling Aniya what happened between me and Page in the bathroom, but there really was no point. Nothing really did happen. But maybe except the fact I knew she wanted to kiss me.

As I walk inside my house, I see my mom in the kitchen, barking at someone on the phone.

"No! You know that's bad for me and her. You know what? I'll call you later. You're clearly not sober."

"Hey mom..."

She turned to me, jumping a bit with a surprised look on her face.

"Hey honey! How was school?" She says as if she wasn't on the phone just now, arguing with someone.

"Just a normal boring day." I say rolling my eyes.

"Oh well, sorry about that." She says laughing. "Well I'm pretty sure I told you already but, I'm going out tonight with a few friends, and I was wondering if you'll be okay here alone?"

Me and Aniya had plans that night, clearly, but I obviously couldn't tell my mom that.

"Yea mom ill be okay. I'll just be in my room all night... doing nothing..."

She looked me up and down. "Okay... whatever you say."

"Yea um- I'm gonna go upstairs to my room now I'll see you later."

I hurry and run up stairs, then perfect timing, Aniya calls me.

"Hey you," I say as I sit down on my bed. "What's up?"

"Hey, so I was wondering if I should buy a movie for us tonight?"

"Well," I say laying on my bed "I was hoping we could do something else..."

"Like what?"

"You know what." I say laughing. "But if you want to watch a movie, I'm all for it."

She laughs. "I'll see you tonight. And you're sure your mom is leaving?"

"Yes I'm positive."

"Okay I'll see you later. Bye, love you."

I hadn't got used to the whole 'I love you'  thing yet, so this surprised me a bit making me go silent.

"Hello?" She says.

"Oh right sorry, love you too."

"If you're not comfortable with saying it-"

I stop her "No no, it's not that. It's just, I haven't got used to it yet, so it surprised me a bit. Love you too, see you tonight."

"Okay... bye." And with that she hangs up.

Now I just have to find out what to wear to her house. Something sexy, but casual. But not too sexy or too casual. I find my black spaghetti strap crop-top, that shows a little bit of cleavage, and my light blue ripped jeans. The crop top makes it so I don't have to wear a bra, so I don't.

It's around 8:20 and my mom comes into my room, telling me she's leaving.

"I'm leaving sweetie," she says, kissing me on the forehead. "love you, and call me if you need anything, okay?"

"Of course mom. Bye." Then she heads out the front door.

I wait till 8:30 to call Aniya to come get me.

"Hello?"

"Hey, you can head over now."

"Okay, I'm heading out the door now. Hopefully nothing crazy happens this time."

I laugh knowing she was talking about Grace. "Alright, see you."

A couple minutes pass by, then I get a call from her.

"Hey, I'm outside."

I hang up and run out the door. I get into her car then she kisses me passionately, as if her life depended on it.

"I missed you." I said, as if we haven't seen each other for a long time.

She hadn't noticed my outfit yet, but I couldn't wait till she did.

"We saw each other a couple hours ago, silly." She laughed, with her hand on my cheek.

"Yea, but still."

"You're right." She said, before driving off.

While she's driving, I couldn't help but look over at her. She looked so beautiful when she was driving. She had a cute ponytail in, with a pink button up shirt with two buttons unbuttoned, with white shorts on. I put my hand on her thigh making her jump a little bit.

"Did I scare you?" I laugh.

"A little." she says, looking over to me for a split second, smiling, then back at the road.

"Also," she added "you look amazing. And that outfit looks stunning on you." She said looking at my chest for a good 5 seconds.

'So she did notice' I thought.

"Thank you," I giggle. "You're not so bad yourself."

She smiled. "Thank you," She put the car in park. "And we're here." She said turning towards me.

I turn to her looking at her lips.

"Great."
