"I had fun." Mariah said, as I see her look over to me in the corner of my eye. "I just wish I could've spent the night..."

I stop at a red light, then look over to her. "As amazing as that sounds, it's really risky."

"You're always so worried, Aniya. Like, Page is the only one who knows. And I don't think she's going to tell anyone."

The light turns green causing me to shift my eyes to the road. "Why's that? You really think she won't tell a soul?"

"Yes!" She shrugs. "I do, well, at least if I do a certain thing."

I smile. "Oh yea, and what's that?"

"I think she has a crush on me."

My smile fades. "You what?"

She looks over to me then at the floor of the car.

"Shit. Okay, I didn't mean to say that.  Uhm... but I have a plan for it so just hear me out. And no, I don't have feelings for her, okay?"

I keep my eyes on the road. "Okay."

"It's not really a plan, but I think I could take advantage of the fact that she has a crush on me. You know, to make her not tell the cops, or anyone..."

This doesn't make any sense I thought.

"I- uh-" I start sweating for some reason. I then pull up to her house and look over to her. "Uhm... We're here-"

She looks at me with a disappointed look on her face. "Aniya, come on."

"Um I think your mom is waiting for you so you should probably go." I say, knowing that this plan was absurd.

She looks at me for long time, frowning slightly, then just kisses my cheek and gets out.

"I'll see you on Monday, then." She says before shutting the car door.

I put the car in drive then drive off.

I didn't know why, but I didn't really like this so called plan she thought of. Page and Mariah? Made me want to throw up thinking about it. Even if it was just for show, it had also made me angry. I didn't know why I was jealous, but believe me, I was really jealous. Maybe it's the thought of her being with someone else? Whatever I need a drink.
_____________

Monday rolls around and I'm in my classroom sorting out papers and putting papers into folders. When I look up, I see Mariah walk in. I look back down at my papers.

"Hey... what's up with you? You barley talked to me today."

"Nothing," I say as I'm still sorting the papers. "Is there something you needed?"

"Hey, stop. Why are you being like this?"

I stop then look up at her. "I'm sorry, but I don't like the idea of you pretending to be Pages girlfriend, for the sake of our relationship. It's stupid, to be honest."

"Whoa okay," she says as she puts her hands up, elbows bent. "I didn't say that, first of all. I said I would take advantage of it. Meaning a one night stand or something. I don't know but I'll figure it out, but where did you get the girlfriend idea? Are you crazy?" She laughs. "That's something I'd rather die then do, and you know that."

My face turns red from embarrassment. "Well, I- I just thought," I let out a sigh. "I'm sorry. I don't know why I went that far. And I guess I got jealous."

"Hey, it's cool. I just have to get her to admit it. And to be honest, if you're not cool with it, then I won't do it."

"Hey, no- you can do it..."

"Are you sure? Cuz really, I won't. I don't want you feeling uncomfortable in any way."

I smile. "Fine... i'm sorry I just don't really like the idea. It makes me uncomfortable."

"Okay..." She says, fidgeting with her hands looking to the side, perhaps wishing I hadn't said no. "No it's alright. I get it. I just thought it would work."

"Well we can try something else out."

She laughs. "Okay." She then leans in and starts kissing me. I moan a little, then start to breath heavy, and pulling up her shirt. But then remembered we aren't in my apartment, we're at school. I then pull away making her look at me with puppy dog eyes.

"5 more minutes?" She says looking at my lips smiling.

"I wish," I say with my fingers on her jawline "but you have to go to class soon."

"Okay, fine. You win this time. But how could I say no to you?" She kisses me again. She can so easily distract me with her charm. I pull away urging her to go to her class.

She smiles, then pulls back. "Okay I'll see you later. Bye."

"Bye." I say as I watch her walk out.
