We then finally pull up to her house.

"Hurry up. I really don't have all day, and I'm in a hurry."

"Yea, okay."

10 or 15 minutes pass by and I come down with my stuff. But then I see Grace, flirting with another woman. Right in front of me. I guess I couldn't be mad, considering we're getting a divorce, and I cheated on her. But still. It angered me.

I force a smile. "Hi. I'm done grabbing my stuff." I say, purposely interrupting their conversation. I throw on a fake smile.

"Oh, you must be Aniya! The ex wife? I've heard a lot about you."

She probably didn't mean this as rude, but I took it as an insult.

"Excuse me?"

Grace looks over at me then looks over at the other woman.

"O-kay, I think we should get going now. I'll call you later, Steph."

I put the box of my stuff in the backseat, and sit in the passenger. Grace finally gets in after a couple minutes of talking with this 'Steph'.

I turn to her. "Who's 'Steph' and why has she heard so much about me, Grace?"

She puts on her seatbelt and doesn't look at me. "First of all, her name is Stephanie. Second of all, we literally just met like a couple weeks ago. Can you chill? And she's a friend. I don't cheat," she then turns to me. "Unlike some people."

"Come on. I didn't think of it like that." Even though, I was. "But if you met weeks ago, why do you already have a nickname for her, and you still haven't answered why she knows 'so much about me'?" I put in air quotes.

"She knows 'so much about you' because I told her about us. Everyday. I..." she stops for a minute. "I told her about how perfect you were, and how grateful and lucky I was to have you as my wife. And how you were always loyal to me. But clearly, that's changed."

I just looked at her with shock, and guilt in my eyes.

"Grace I-"

"Just... let's go. I still have to get the rest of my stuff from your house."

I then turn back in my seat, just staring at the dashboard. I close my eyes letting the tears fall, then put my seatbelt on. Then she drives off to my house.

While she's driving my phone rings. Grace takes a glance at my phone in the cup holder, and takes a look at the caller.

"Unbelievable." She scoffed.

I pick it up to see who it was, and it was Mariah. I sighed. "Grace..."

" I don't wanna argue with you Aniya. Just take the damn call."

I answer. "Hey..."

"Hey, where are you?"

"Oh uh, I'm not feeling so good today so I didn't come in. But I'll see you next week."

"You're kinda breaking up a bit... but okay..."

"Yea the connection is kinda bad at my apartment sorry... but I have to go I'll call you later."

"Oh okay. Bye... I... I love you."

My eyes widened, and I wasn't so sure if I should say it back.

"I- uh... I'll call you later." I then hung up.

I felt bad... but I couldn't just say I love you to her right in front of Grace.

The rest of the car ride was just silence.

We then pull up to my house and I unbuckle my seatbelt. "Uh... do you still want to come get your stuff?"

Her left hand on the wheel, her right elbow on the console. "No, not really."

"Okay... See you later then I guess." Before I could step out of the car, she stopped me with her voice.

"You know, out of all people, your student? Really? That shit is all kinds of messed up, Aniya."

I turn to her, having nothing to say.

"And," she takes her hand off of the steering wheel, and puts both of her hands in her lap looks forward.

"I want you to turn yourself in."
