I could hardly sleep, I was so anxious about Brad being released and then possibly refusing to talk to me.
Steve and Bre left for work and I left with them, heading to my house to pack for Tennessee before going to the doctor appointment.
Kendra texted me- Jay's name has been released as the victim in the accident but no other details. Thinking his family is paying to keep their name out of the mud.
That meant my name, too, so I was thankful for it.
The doctor examined me, asked tons of questions, and did another CT scan. I wasn't surprised when he told me the hematoma had shrank and I was cleared to travel. My head hadn't even hurt at all yesterday. I made him type it all out and fax to Rafe so I would be allowed to perform, then I called Sam on my way out of the building.
"I'll book us seats together for tonight and give you a text with details", Sam said. "Heather can give us a ride to the airport".
"Let me know how much it is so I can pay you back", I said.
"No worries. You can book next time", he said.
"Thank you so much, Sam! Can you make the flight as late as you're willing to go? Brad should be released today and I'd like to talk to him if he'll let me. The autopsy showed that I killed Jay before Brad shot him".
"What do you mean if he'll let you?"
"When I visited him in jail on Tuesday, he randomly asked if I was sleeping with Rev...so he knows but he didn't give me a chance to explain anything or apologize. He just walked away".
"Shit", Sam said.
"Yeah".
"I'll text you shortly", Sam said.
"Okay. Don't forget your songs", I reminded him. "Oh, and I'll let Tommy know".
I hung up with Sam and called Tommy right away.
"Excellent. We'll be leaving within an hour then. I'll see you tonight. Keep me posted what your ETA is".
"Oh, you can get in without me", I said. "I'll forward you the details in case you arrive first". I explained what was going on with Brad.
"Good news and bad news", he said.
"Yep".
"Text me later".
"I will. Drive safe".
I hung up with Tommy and texted my brother- Any info yet?

Scott called Andy at eight thirty. "Brad should be getting out around ten".
"I'll meet you there", Andy said.

Brad had a lot of time to think in jail, and he was now sure about three things.
1. He still loved Paige with all of his heart, regardless of her breaking it, but that didn't necessarily mean he could forgive her.
2. He needed to get more information from her, about when she was with Rev and why, before he could decide if he could move past it.
3. If he could get past her being with Rev, there would need to be some assurances from her that it wouldn't happen again. The main thing was that she would never be able to talk to or see Rev ever again. If she was serious about being committed to him, she should be able to do that.Scott called Thursday morning with the news that he was being released at ten. The autopsy showed that Jay died from blunt force trauma to the head, not from his gunshot wound. Brad didn't know whether to call it good news or not. Scott said Paige might still need to go to court for herself, but more as a formality, as it was clearly self defense. Unless Jay's family pushed for any charges against him, Scott didn't think Brad would have any further legal troubles.
