Chapter 19- Don't follow me

                                                              Federicos POV

We arrived to the mansion after some time and noticed that my parents have already arrived. I was so happy that my parents like Hailey although I never doubted it. There is nothing about her  not to like. She is literally perfect and they saw it. Plus all the good things both Aria and I said about her helped. As I parked the car I stepped out and went to open the door for Hailey but saw that she was already out. I gave her a glare and she looked at me clueless.

“I was supposed to help you out.” I said and she laughed a little. “I am sorry baby. I forgot. It wont happen next time.” She said coming to me and kissing me lightly. “You bet it wont because I will lock the damn car and you wont be able to open the doors.” I answered and she chuckled shaking her head. “Okay okay don’t worry I will follow the rule next time I promise.” She said. “Good. Now lets go in.” I said and took her hand in mine before heading towards the entrance of our mansion. Once we entered we made our way towards the living room and there were seated my parents as expected.

“Have you waited long for us?” I asked as we sat down on a sofa. “Oh no we have just arrived a few minutes before you 2.” My mom answered and I nodded. At that moment we heard the front door open and close meaning that Aria and Kai arrived. And of course the 2 of them were the ones that came to the living room. Kai was helping Aria walk and she still looked weak and pale. “Hey guys you already arrived.” Aria said smiling at us as the 2 of them made their way to another sofa to sit. “Not long before you.” Hailey answered. “Good. I wouldn’t want to miss out on the family gossip.” She joked and we chuckled. “But in all seriousness now. Do you know who was brave enough to attack us?” She asked and I shook my head. “No, we don’t yet. We have a few of them captured for questioning but we waited for you to be better before proceeding to question them.” I answered.

“Do you think the Russians could be responsible?” My father asked. “No. We made peace with them they shouldn’t be breaking it.” I answered. “But have you signed it yet?” My mother asked. “No they still havent sent it.” I answered and connected the dots. “Well there is our answer.” Kai commented. “But what if it wasn’t them?” Aria asked and I noticed that Hailey was quiet all this time. “What do you think tesoro?” I asked and she looked at me as if she had just snapped out of her thoughts. “I don’t know. There is a huge possibility that its them.” She answered. “Well there is only one way to know.” I said. “You will have to do it without me because I am hella tired and I will go to sleep for a little bit.” Aria said getting up and Kai supported her walking. “Yeah I will stay with her so don’t count on me either.” He said and they  went upstairs.

“We want to go with you guys.” My father said and I nodded. “I counted on that.” I said. “Lets go then.” My mom said and we all got up leaving to the cells. As we made our way towards the cell they are at, my men bowed their heads respectfully as the old don and the new don were passing by. One of the guards opened the cell and let us in. There were 3 of them tied to the chairs and gagged so they cant talk between themselves. “These 3 fucks were supposed to kill us all?” Hailey asked as she approached them. “Yep.” I answered. “Hm. No wonder they are captured they look like fucking weaklings.” She said and I chuckled. “True that.” I answered. “Gentlemen.” I said clapping my hands once. “Shall we start?” I asked smiling evilly.

They all started shaking their heads their eyes widening. “Fucking pussies.” My mother said. “If you are going to attack someone at least  grow some balls before it.” My father added. I took the gags out of their mouths so they can speak. “Please don’t kill us we will tell you everything we know we promise just please spare us we don’t want to be tortured.” One of them said frantically. “You don’t want to be tortured. Well that is new.” I said mockingly ad they nodded their heads thinking I am serious. Stupid fools. “Yes. Especially not by her.” The other one said attempting to whisper “her” probably meaning Hailey. “But why not? I am not that scary I promise.” Hailey said. “Oh yeah? We heard about you and the flamethrowers.” The third one said. “Come on. Cant a girl like some fire? Why are you judging me ?” She asked faking a sad expression and my mom chuckled. They are freaking psychopaths and they will get along just fine.

“Oh wait I know how to change your mind about the flamethrowers. I can test the new one we got on you.” Hailey said clapping her hands excitedly. “But no. I think I will leave the torturing to the folks behind us. After all its their daughter you shot.” She said. “Please don’t we will tell you everything.” The first one repeated. “Okay then spill already.” My dad said impatiently. “Its Leonid. He sent us.” He said. “Why would he attack when we have a truce?” I asked. “You haven’t signed it yet meaning he can do whatever he wants.” He continued. “Is it because we declined the alliance?” I asked. “No.” He answered. “Then what is it?” My mom asked and he looked at Hailey. “Its her.” He said. “What?” Hailey asked. “What do you mean her!” I yelled and he flinched. Pathetic. “He is fucking obsessed with her. He keeps telling everyone that he will make her his and that she will be our new queen. He organized the attack so he can kidnap her. The shot that your sister took was meant for the Shadow but our soldiers made a mistake ” He answered and I looked at Hailey who paled and for a moment I thought she will collapse.

“That’s it. Mom, dad I am leaving you to deal with them.” I said as I came to Hailey and took her hand dragging her out. Once we were back upstairs and in the kitchen I hugged her tightly. “Don’t worry tesoro he will not get near you.” I said kissing her head. She was probably confused right now and shocked just as much as I am. But beside that I am fuming. He wanted my babygirl well he can suck a dick. “I cant believe that twisted fuck likes you.” I said and she pulled away with tears in her beautiful eyes. “No. Don’t cry. He wont take you from me.” I said cupping her cheeks. “Its not that.” She said and I looked at her confused. “I knew he wanted to take me.” She said and my eyes widened.

“What?” I asked. “At the meeting when he spoke Russian with Maksim. Aria understood them and told me they were talking about me.” She explained. “And you just casually forgot to tell me?” I asked dropping my hands from her face. “No. I didn’t want you to raise war. You have just made a truce.” She said and I shook my head. “I don’t want your excuses. We are together you are supposed to tell me everything regarding you and your safety. And Aria. She hid it from me to.” I said running a hand through my hair. “You know what. I need time to think a little. Don’t follow me.” I said and left the kitchen going to my office feeling betrayed and hurt. She didn’t trust me enough.
                                                                         
                                                                    Haileys POV

I stand there watching him leave not knowing what to do or how to react. I messed up big time and his reaction is justified. His sister got shot because of me and I hid the fact that I knew that they want me. But I could have never guessed that Leonid would go to these limits. Who the fuck does he think he is? Thinking he can just waltz in and kidnap me. Well he is delusional that’s for sure. How am I going to fix this with Federico? The tears gathered in my eyes at the thought of hurting him in any way and right now I did just that. I hurt his feelings. It looked like I didn’t trust him enough but I just didn’t want to worry him. He had enough on his plate and I could handle this on my own. At least I thought so. My thoughts were interrupted by Isabella and Aldo coming in.

“Well the bastards got what they deser-” She started but stop mid sentence once she saw me. “Oh honey why are you crying?” She asked as she embraced me in a motherly hug. I missed those. I havent even realized that a few tears fell from my eyes. “Its nothing Isabella I am fine.” I answered. “Its not nothing. Is it Federico?” She asked and I didn’t answer. “So it is. I am going to whoop his ass. What did he do?” She asked again. “He didn’t do anything. Its my fault. At the meeting with Russians Aria understood what they were speaking on their mother tongue and told me they were talking about me. I didn’t want Federico to worry himself and ruin the truce so we kept it from him. I have told him now and he said he needed space.” I explained.

“Don’t worry he will come around. But you shouldn’t have kept that from him. I understand your intentions but it was still wrong.” Aldo said. “I swear to god I will kill him.” Suddenly Aria said barging into the kitchen. “I heard everything. After all the shit he said to you when he was upset, and yes I heard what happened at the hospital, he doesn’t have the right to act like a bitch when you just tried protecting him.” She said and left the kitchen leaving us stunned. “Oh shit she is about to do something crazy.” I said and we all sprinted out of the kitchen and went towards Federicos office.

Will Federico forgive Hailey?
