Dan's POV

I reached over for the cup of water that was sitting on the table next to my hospital bed. My hands shaking, and I couldn't quite extend my arm far enough. I pushed myself over, hurting my side, I had lost a ton of blood and I was incredibly weak.

I grabbed the cup, spilling a few drops of water on my bed and floor as I brought it closer to me. It was heavier than I thought it would be. Jesus Christ, I was so weak that I couldn't even carry a cup of water. When am I going to get blood in me. I guess the real question is who is going to give it to me? My blood type makes it hard for those questions to be answered.

I took a sip of my water spilling drops on the collar of my shirt. I looked out of my door and saw two men rolling a stretcher down the hallway. On it was a girl with a mask over her mouth, to which I assumed was for breathing. I looked closer at her, she looked familiar, really familiar. But I couldn't quite see her face. She jerked to the side, her face was now towards me. It startled the paramedics pushing her. I saw her face, I knew her. I knew her well. It was Caitlin.

I screamed, I screamed at the top of my lungs. Tears streaming down my face as I saw her have an attack, I watched her eyes become lifeless, I watched her body jerk from left to right. My nurse came running into my room. She asked me if I was ok, she asked me if I was in any pain. But all I could respond with was myself screaming her name. Screaming Caitlin was all I could manage to do. It drained all of my energy. My nurse didn't know what to do, she just closed my door, not allowing me to see her anymore.

I didn't stop screaming or crying, I couldn't. Well at least I couldn't until she injected me with something to make me sleepy. I drifted off, Caitlin in my thoughts as I closed my eyes.
