CHAPTER 39

ROME'S POV

I intertwined my fingers together resting my elbows on the table as I impatiently waited for none other than Leo.

It's currently 7:09 PM and we decided to meet at 7:00 PM. He's nine minutes late and I got more and more worried with each passing second.

Did he get kidnapped again?

I shook my leg gritting my teeth trying to shove away all the negative thoughts consuming my head.

Just when I decided to get up and go search for him, the cafe's door opened revealing Leo. I sighed in relief seeing him all fine and stood up waiting for him to come to me.

He let out a cute giggle walking upto me with his short legs. I silently cooed at his small figure which made me want to hide him in my pocket protecting him from the evil world.

I pulled out the chair motioning him to take a seat and he did thanking me quietly. I didn't fail to notice his red cheeks which made me smile as I pushed the chair back in with ease.

I sat down in front of him admiring his pretty face. I bit my lip once I saw the earring in which the tracker was placed wasn't on his ear.

"Where's that earring?"

"Oh that- I took it off yesterday... Why?"

"Nothing just curious.. By the way why were you late?"

"Late? It was just nine minutes. Did you come too early?"

"Yeah I came here at 6:00 PM."

"What? Seriously!?"

"I know that we decided to meet at 7:00 PM but I was too excited."

He let out a chuckle nodding at me.

"It took me a little while to convince my parents... They were too scared to let me go outside because of what happened but I promised that I'll take care of myself."

"Oh that's the reason. Well, they don't need to worry about their son when he's with their future son-in-law."

Leo's eyes widened and a blush appeared on his cheeks as he choked on nothing but thin air. I teasingly smirked at me leaning my back on the chair staring at him innocently as if I just didn't make his heart go crazy.

"You should stop... We just started dating recently and we don't even know if we will marry each other."

"Oh we will nugget... I'm sure of it."

I glanced down at his lips and looked away combing my hair with the help of my fingers.

"Let's order now what do you say? Or else I might eat you instead- Ouch!"

I groaned resting my head on the table caressing my leg which Leo just kicked under the table. I sighed looking at him as he pressed his lips together trying not to laugh at my face.

"What? You deserve it for intentionally teasing me."

He said with a hand over his mouth but couldn't control anymore and laughed out loud clutching his stomach.

I sighed sitting up straight and fold my arms against my chest staring at him. He continued laughing so loudly and a smile formed on my face admiring how beautiful he looked even while laughing.

"I'm sorry."

He wiped away the stray tears that escaped his eyes and took a deep breath in sitting properly.

"You want me to forgive you?"

He nodded taking a sip of water from the glass placed on the table.

"Then come to my house tonight."
