stanley cup final.

game 6.

could end terribly for both teams.

i know sidney was not wanting this to go to game 7.

heck, i don't think anyone wanted that.

i went to the game in nashville along with all the other wags of the players. we got a suite for all of us.

every pens fan wanted a back to back.

we got settled in our seats and it was soon puck drop.

we were all on the edge of our seats the entire night.

matt murray had so many incredible saves in the first period.

nashville scored two minutes into the second period.

hope gone.

but, after review it was no goal.

hope restored.

some great scoring chances by both teams and a few missed shots from sidney.

oh god, nashville breakaway.

save. thank the lord.

i grabbed kris letang's wife's hand, stephanie.

we had really been through everything together.

end of second. 0-0.

"nervous?" stephanie said.

"very." i answered.

i checked in with the girls and we were all pretty terrified.

third period.

5-3 power play in favour of nashville.

"this is the best game of matt murray's career." i said to jake guentzel's girlfriend, natalie.

she nodded, "this is the most nervous i've been in my entire life."

i nodded, agreeing with her.

as soon as we looked back at the game, goal for the pens.

patric hornqvist.

we all jumped up and i hugged natalie.

"nothing to be nervous about anymore." i whispered and laughed.

empty netter by haglin.

we knew we had it.

13 seconds left.

final.

we all jumped up again and we celebrated in the suite as the players celebrated on the ice.

we awaited the announcement of the conn smythe trophy.

we were hugging and had our arms around each others shoulders.

gary bettman started, "for only the third time, the conn smythe trophy is being awarded to the same person, two years in a row. sidney crosby you are the playoffs mvp."

and excitement ran through my body.

i was so proud of sidney and all he's done.

the cup was presented and it wasn't long before we were running through the arena to get to the ice to see our boys.

once we were on the ice, i tried to find sid but he found me first.

he skated over towards me and gave me a bear hug and lifted me up.

he put me down and cameras came around us.

i grabbed his face in my hands and said, "i'm so proud of you, back to back." he smiled.

i did too.

this was a day to remember.
