anthony and i were watching some cheesy romance movie that i wasn't interested in.
i mean who cares that they met at work and fell in love? not me.
"are you even watching?" anthony asked me quietly.
"yeah, yeah." nope, i definitely wasn't.
"i can tell you aren't."
"don't worry about it."
"okay." he went back to watching, thankfully. close one.
as i was sitting, i thought back to when anthony and i met.
4 YEARS AGO
can't believe i actually think i could get tickets to this autograph signing.
i really wanted to get some autographs from some of the younger players because it's cool to have a card from when they were a rookie.
they're gonna be famous and future stars so i need to be one of the first fans to see them as the future of the lightning.
"hey, want me to sign that?" a young rookie asked me as i placed my lightning hat down on the table.
"if you could please." i looked at the name tag on the table and saw this guy was anthony cirelli. a really good rookie.
"nice hat." he complimented and handed the hate back to me.
"thank you for the autograph." we smiled at each other and i walked down the line to the next player.
LATER
"hey, i'm anthony, i signed your hat earlier." i looked up from my phone to see it was anthony cirelli.
"yeah, you did." why would he be coming up to me?
"i just wanted to give you this, see ya." he placed a sticky note in my hand and he walked away, leaving me confused.
i looked at the sticky note and there were 10 numbers that happened to be a phone number.
and it wasn't a regular phone number, it was his.
i made a contact with anthony's name on it and went home smiling.
we went on a few dates after that and we really clicked. later, we started dating.
PRESENT
"hey, remember when we first met?"
"yeah, course i do. best day ever." he said and smiled.
"you're too sweet."
