longer than expected but i hope you like it!

it was mitch's birthday coming up so, being the great sister i am, i decided i would leave markham for a week to surprise him in toronto.

i haven't seen steph, his fiancée, in a while either. it would be great to see them again.

i've met his teammates a few times at team and marner assist foundation events before, just not this year. so there's a few guys i haven't met before and it would be great to meet them.

i had already texted steph the plan and she agreed with it.

the plan was that they would go out for dinner, i would get into the house while they were out and surprise them from there.

they should thank me for providing them with a date night, to be honest.

i packed my bags and loaded them into my car and started the drive to toronto. praying for good traffic.

when i got into toronto, not bad traffic thankfully, steph had texted me they were already at the restaurant and the door password so i could get in.

i got to their house, parked a street over and walked to their house.

i got in safely and texted steph i was in.

this is a heist almost.

i put my suitcase in the spare bedroom and sat on the couch in the living room.

i had already had food before leaving my house in markham so i didn't need dinner.

steph texted me around 10 minutes later saying they were on their way home.

i heard the door open later and i put my phone down.

steph walked in first and she held the door open for mitch.

he walked in, "what the heck are you doing here?"

"visiting you for your birthday!" i said and stood up.

"oh my god! did you know about this?" he looked at steph and she nodded.

"come on and give me a hug mitchy." i opened my arms and he hugged me.

"how long are you here for?" he whispered.

"a week. i also got tickets to the first playoff game vs tampa." i said and pulled out of the hug.
