the beach.as a surfer, it's definitely one of my favourite places ever.
i have a house close to the beach which is a plus,
i love the breeze, the sand in between your toes, the sun, everything. it's heaven.
today was no different then every other one, going surfing.
i got dressed in my swim suit, prepped my surf board and i headed to the beach.
i decided to head out to the water just for fun, nothing special today.
i was in the water and in my element, doing spins and tricks.
the water hitting my skin, the waves running perfectly, the sun beaming down. calm and perfect.
i finished surfing and headed back to sun bathe on my towel.
i've been sitting and sun tanning for a few minutes when i heard, "alex, look, she's pretty."
i kept my eyes closed to see if the voice would say more, they did.
"bro, she is. okay, relax and let's walk away." another voice said.
i opened my eyes, two boys stood in front of me. they were cute to say the least.
"hey." i said, taking a leap of faith in talking to them.
they looked a little shocked that i had heard them, "uh, hello."
"what're you doing?" i asked them and sat up on my elbows.
"just taking a walk along the beach, you?" one of them said.
"suntanning. what're your names?" i asked.
"i'm quinton," the taller one said, "and i'm alex." the shorter one said.
"i'm y/n, nice to meet you." i smiled.
after time passed quinton, alex and i were sitting on the beach together and talking about things.
i had learned that they played on the la kings, talk about impressive, and they had learned that i surf and i'm in my third year at ucla.
they thought it was so cool that i lived right on the water.
"playoffs soon?" i asked.
"yeah, starting next week." alex answered.
"well damn, good luck i guess." i mumbled.
they laughed, "thank you." quinton said.
his phone started ringing and he answered it.
i looked and alex and he just shrugged.
"sorry, i gotta go. my friend just called." he explained.
"it's all good." i smiled.
"see ya later." quinton said to alex and i.
"bye." we both replied, and he left.
"i'm going to start heading back to my place too, actually." i said and stood up.
alex did too, "that sucks. i liked hanging out with you."
"me too."
"since we like hanging out together, can i get your number?" he asked.
smooth.
"sure." i handed him my phone and he handed me his.
i put my number into a new contact and handed him his phone back.
he handed me his and he had put his name as, 'alex 🤍'.
"i hope to see you soon." i said to him and picked my board up.
"yeah, i hope to see you soon. maybe you can make it to a playoff game."
"for sure, i'd love too."
"well, text me, bye." he smiled and walked away.
"i will, bye."
the days passed and i couldn't get my mind off of alex.
and apparently, he couldn't keep his off of me.
