Chapter ~ 41

As Nandini said those words Manik was lost in his own world.

"Hello, are you there Manik? Maanikk back to earth??"
Said Nandini shaking Manik when he wasn't responding to her.

"Yeah Yeah, what?"
Said Manik irritated to the fact that what is happening to him. The boy who never was soft to any girl like this was feeling something for Nandini he was developing a soft corner for her.

"What what? Where were you lost?"
Asked Nandini.

"Nothing.. actually it's just I didn't know that ' you are so mature and sorted about love and life you know. I have seen you messed up and disheveled you know. I thought you must be too shattered since what happened in Mangalore I thought you will be like I don't believe in Love and all. Because I knew how it feels when you are betrayed by the person you have trusted and loved the most."

Said Manik

And while Manik said the last line there was something unusual in his eyes which Nandini noticed. There were some mixed emotions that weren't hidden from her. There was anger, pain, and hurt all at once. Just a tinge of all of them just for that moment confused her and she was somewhat sure about the fact that there was something in Manik's past that makes him this way. A monster not believing in love at all. She was sure about it because of the way he just pushed her away just after that night as if it was nothing. But she decided to go with the flow. She decided to break his boundaries slowly step by step because this much she knew if she will question he would never answer her and will try to push her away once again. But today there was confusion too. Manik was more of confused and Nandini clearly noticed that.

"Huh.. so typical of you Manik. Just a few incidents and you judged me. You have never even spoke to me properly. As if your height will reduce."
Said, Nandini.

"And look who is actually talking about the heights. Our very famous Miss Peanut"
Said Manik mocking Nandini's height.

"So what Mr. Eiffel tower height, I'm not short my height is just cute you know."
Said, Nandini.

"Ha Ha Ha. Every short-height person says this my dear peanut."
Said Manik sarcastically.

"Yeah Yeah whatever."
Said Nandini in her cute anger

And Manik smiled at her cute angry face. The fact was he couldn't deny that her little miss Peanut was actually cute.

"Nandini you know something?"
Asked Manik.

"Know what?"
Asked Nandini still in her anger.

"Well I don't know about your height but you definitely look cute when you are angry."
Said Manik right near her ears bending to her height.

And there was a bright smile on Nandini's face hearing this. Her cheeks turned pink and she was looking more beautiful.

And the next moment followed just the adoring gaze of both of them looking at each other and their stars witnessing this kick start of their story towards their hamesha and forever. And somewhere nearby were the fireflies glowing in their full light celebrating this beginning.

NEXT MORNING

Last night was a terrible dream for everyone, but at the end, something positive also happened, well it was not that if it's ends well then everything is fine but just a momemt of happiness amidst the negativity. When Manik and Nandini shared their part of the truth and more importantly they were growing closer yet again. On one hand, where Nandini slept peacefully, Manik was restless and the reason was none other than Nandini. Her thoughts about love and life were ringing in his ears, and his whole belief about love was shaken. Manik couldn't understand why he was deawn towards her. Why he's no more that monster manik who was always angry and frustrated. He realised he was changing back to that Manik which he was years ago before that betrayal whih changed him completely which made him a monster.
