Song of the Chapter: Tu Jo Mila from Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Note before Chapter: I'd quickly like to say something: The Ramayan is a sacred text, and I'm basing this off of that. I've seen tumblr and other writing media users "shipping" couples like Lakshman and Indrajit, or Sita and Surpanakha (?!)

Despite the creative liberties I'm taking with this story, I'd hope I'm not going that far. I, personally, do not support non-canon couples for the Ramayan, Mahabharat, or any other sacred texts of any sort. Please don't forget that many people believe that the Ramayan and the Mahabharat actually happened.

I just hope it doesn't seem that i'm doing any of that. If you ever feel I'm going too far, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I will remove that part of my story immediately.

Start of Story:

Hanuman, flying, thought he recognized some of the things he had passed before. "Hey, is that the tree that I almost crashed into?" He wondered, glancing down at the predictable top. "I don't really know. Everything looks the same to me now. The same mountains. The same trees. The same ponds. The same annoying birds. The same Sanjeevani. Or maybe not. Maybe I've turned a 180, so I'm near Kilimanjaro instead of Everest, the Amazon instead of the Chitrakut. Maybe this isn't even Sanjeevani but its evil twin, because God knows, nothing good is ever red and shiny."

But, to Hanuman's great excitement, he thought he saw a very recognizable ocean wave, and as soon as he heard the crashing of the water and the cawing of the seagulls, he grinned. Well, actually, the seagulls were white birds from the Himalayas called the mountaingulls. They had been displaced by the whole giant mountain being removed, landscape alteration thing.

In anger, they followed Hanuman across India, cawing at him angrily. Even many years later, they stayed on the beach, waiting for Hanuman and searching for him to caw some more (that's why seagulls try to steal our food; we kinda sorta look like monkeys-). But Hanuman heard the seagulls, figured they'd been there for long (not realizing that the cawing he'd heard before was actually poor ol' Jambavan trying to scold Nal and Neel), and realized he'd reached the edge of the mainland.

Hanuman hovered near the Ocean, worriedly placing mountain from shoulder to shoulder. "Alright, this is it." he huffed. "No turning back. If this mountain doesn't work, I'll need my father to blow back time or something." he waved his hand at the sky.

And then, without another word, he started flying again, Lanka reaching closer to his eyes by the second. "Hold on, Lakshman bhaiyya, Hanuman is coming!"

-----O-----

"Hold on, Lakshman, Hanuman is coming!" Ram cried, shaking Lakshman's shoulders. "Just keep breathing. Keep calm and breathe on!" Lakshman obliged him, though his face turned blue rapidly and Sushen kept worriedly removing the bandaid to check on the wound. "Hanuman is coming, Hanuman will be here soon, Hanuman will-"

"Hanuman!" Angad cried, pointing towards the sky. Everyone rushed towards the place where he stood, peering at the sky to affirm his claim. Angad's hand didn't waver as he pointed towards the darkening sky.

"Angad, that's a shooting star," Sugriv sighed, and Angad whined. "But close enough. Hanuman shall be here soon," he turned around to calm Ram down and assure him. Ram slumped, swallowing hard and rocking on his heels.

"HANUMAN!" Angad shrieked, jumping up and down. "Look! Hanuman is finally back! See that, that has to be Hanum-" Angad squinted, and Jambavan placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Yuvraj, that's a seagull." Jambavan consoled. Ram groaned, placing his head in his hands. Nal and Neel had started to party, then rapidly stopped, then started again, then stopped again, and Nal was dejectedly taking his hat off again when-
