"it's quidditch later, remember?" james sent a charming grin my way. "i'm fully aware, mr potter." i smirked, momentarily looking up from my DADA homework. "you'll be watching, right?" he asked, leaning on the desk in front of me. "yes james." i reassured, my eyes still glued to the pages below. "promise?" he asked, lifting my chin up so i was looking at him. "i promise." i smiled, reaching up to push his glasses up his nose. "that's alright then." he replied, walking around the desk, planting a kiss on my cheek before heading towards the doors of the library. "see you later, love." he smiled, exiting the room. i was stood in the stands, alongside remus and peter. "it's freezing." i whined, trying to keep my focus on the game. "shouldn't be long now." remus reassured, nudging me with a slight smile. i turned, following where his gaze was, james scoring the winning point at that moment. i cheered, jumping around as he turned towards the stands, blowing me a kiss before the game came to an end. gryffidor had beat slytherin. as soon as everyone had left the stands, i waited for james to join me on the field. i stood there, wrapping my coat around my body tighter as a cold breeze blew through the air. "hey, love." i heard, my body spinning round to face the boy. "you were amazing out there." i told him, a grin plastered across my face as he walked across the grass towards me. "you think?" he smirked. "star player apparently." he continued, as he finally came face to face with me. i handed him his glasses, smiling. james wrapped an arm around my shoulder as we made our way back to the school. "i'm proud of you." i told him, leaning my head against his shoulder. "you always tell me that." he reminded me, looking down. "i know, but i am. i always am." i chuckled, looking down at my feet. "i told myself i was gonna win that for you." he told me, making my cheeks heat up slightly. "and you did." i sighed. we fell into a comfortable silence, the only noise being the crunching of the fallen leaves beneath our feet. "what you thinking about in that pretty little head of yours?" james asked, breaking the silence. "nothing." i told him, my voice quieter than anticipated. "i don't believe you." he stopped walking, turning to face me, his arm no longer wrapped around my shoulder. "james it's cold, can we go inside?" i whined. "not until you tell me what you're thinking about." he smirked, folding his arms. i huffed, accepting defeat. "what's gonna happen to us when we leave hogwarts?" i asked, looking down at my fingers. "look at me, darling." he told me, my gaze lifting to meet his. "when we leave here, i want to marry you. i want us to have kids and live the happiest life together until we die." he told me, grabbing my hands. "i'm going to spend the rest of my life with you and only you." he smirked. "you promise? i asked, chewing my lip. "i promise, y/n. that's what i want, more than anything." he grinned. "come here, love." he told me. i smiled, as he leant down to kiss me.
