it was breakfast, and yourself and pansy were sat laughing over something that had occurred the night before, while you were both drinking fire whisky in your dorm. pansy was leaning on blaise, who swiftly wrapped his arm around her waist. they weren't together as such, but to be honest, everyone in the house thought they might as well be. draco was on your left, but his behaviour was very unusual this morning. he wasn't his usual cocky self, he was quiet, and looked to be lost in his own thoughts. you grabbed his wrist, dragging him out of the great hall, him cursing at your sudden action.
"what the hell was that?" he asked, clearly agitated. "you haven't said a word at all this morning, you've been sat in your own little bubble the whole entire time, and i know you're gonna tell me you're fine, but if you were fine you would have been judging me and pansy." you answered.
"okay, you know i'm not myself, well done. can i go now?" he looked at you. you grabbed his tie and continued to drag him back up to the slytherin common room. "i swear draco, i will drag you round the whole damn school if i have to. talk to me." you demanded. he stared at his hands, playing with the rings on his fingers. "things are complicated at the moment, and my heads not where it should be." he paused. "but give me a week or something and i promise i'll sort myself out, i'll be okay love." he reasoned with you. draco had always had a soft spot for you, ever since first year. you were one of the first people to show him true compassion, and make him feel like he properly meant something to someone.
"thank you y/n, for checking on me." he finished. you gave him a small smile, knowing he wouldn't lie to you when you can already read him like a book. you walked over to him, fixing the mess you had made of his tie, before planting a small kiss on his cheek. a slight blush spread across draco's face, making you chuckle. you were about to leave the common room when you turned back to him, "you're cute when you blush." you stated, leaving before he could follow it with a cocky remark.
