Yuri's POV
I went back inside to find Dom still awake, leaning against the counter with that look—half curiosity, half concern.
"So, who was that?" he asked, casual but clearly fishing for details.
"She's... my mother's friend," I started, keeping it vague.
He raised a brow. "That all?"
I sighed, knowing he wasn't going to drop it. "And... also my godmother," I admitted reluctantly.
His eyes narrowed slightly, as if trying to read between the lines.
"Dom, please," I said, cutting off his silent interrogation. "Can we just skip this topic for now? I promise, one day I'll tell you everything. Just... not tonight."
He studied me for a moment longer before nodding. "Alright. One day."
Relief washed over me. "Thank you for understanding," I said softly, leaning in to kiss his cheek before heading to bed.
Later that night, I walked into my room only to find Tej and Roman sprawled across my bed like they owned it. "Seriously, guys?" I muttered, hands on my hips.
Roman opened one eye, smirking. "Don't act like you don't love us crashing your space." I rolled my eyes, sighed, and shoved at their legs to make room. "Move over, freeloaders."
Tej laughed, scooting slightly. "You're lucky we left you some room."
"Wow, so generous," I grumbled, squeezing between them and trying to find a comfortable position.
The next morning, Han, Santos, and Leo walked in with a box so big they could've smuggled a body inside. It was easily seven feet tall.
"That the piggy bank you ordered," Santos joked, setting it down with a thud.
I stared at the box. "You've gotta be kidding me."
"Nope," Han said with a sly grin.
"How did you even get this thing?" Tej asked, raising a brow.
Han shrugged. "We had lives before you met us, you know."
"Alright," Tej said, clapping his hands. "I'll get started on the electronic tumbler. But we've got a bigger issue—the palm scanner. Without Reyes' handprint, Houdini himself couldn't open this thing."
"How do you know it's Reyes' handprint?" Leo asked skeptically. I scoffed, crossing my arms. "You've got $100 million in a safe. Who else's handprint are you putting on it? The janitor's?"
Leo muttered something in Spanish, shaking his head, while Brian chimed in. "Okay, but how are we supposed to get Reyes' handprint?"
Dom's answer was immediate. "Han, you're up."
Han smirked, unbothered. "Sure. Nothing like the easy stuff."
"I'll drive," Gisele volunteered, tossing her keys.
While they headed to the beach, I stuck around to help Tej with the vault setup. We were mid-conversation when Dom walked over and handed me his phone.
"It's for you," he said simply.
Curious, I took the phone. "Hello?"
"Hey, Yuri," Han's voice came through, laced with frustration. "We need some extra hands. Come help us." I raised a brow. "I thought this was supposed to be an easy job."
Han groaned. "Just get here. Oh, and wear a bikini," he added before abruptly hanging up.
I stared at the phone like it had personally insulted me. "A bikini?" I mumbled to myself. "I've never even worn one before..."
