Yuri's POV

After sunset, a large group of street racers began to gather in a back alley, with Brian and me tagging along with them.

We both stepped out of the car, and I leaned against it. "What am I even doing here, Brian?" I sighed.

"Watching me win," he replied with a confident grin.

"Against whom may I ask?" I inquired.

"Dominic Toretto," he replied.

"Who's that?" I asked, feeling a bit confused. Brian absentmindedly played with my hair. "The guy who told me not to go back to the store," he explained.

"Oh, the bulky guy?" I asked, and he nodded.

"When is he coming? I'm getting bored here," I whined.

"What do you mean bored? Look at all these beauties out here," Brian remarked, scanning the crowd of girls, which made me scoff.

"I don't know how they dress up like that, Brian!!" I complained.

"Like what?" He asked, clearly amused.

"Like they're almost naked..." I whispered. "Do you think everyone is as decent as yourself?" He laughed.

"I won't go as far as decent, but still, underwear and bras are important to me!" I replied proudly.

"Yeah, right! Keep talking like that, and you'll stay a virgin forever," he teased, and I flipped him off.

"I'd rather die as a virgin than lose my first time to a stranger."

(A/N: She'll regret this later.)

"Sweet ride. What you running under there, man?" One of the guys in the group took notice of Brian's car and approached us.

I didn't say anything because I didn't know ANYTHING! Brian, on the other hand, just smiled at him. "Going to make me find out the hard way?" he replied with a confident grin. "Hell, yeah."

"You brave. You brave. They call me Hector. I got a last name, too, but I can't pronounce it," he introduced himself.

"Brian Spilner, Yuri Yukimura," we introduced ourselves, shaking his hand.

"Typical white-boy name. Know what I'm saying? Is she your girl?" Hector asked, looking at me. Brian looked at me and placed his hands on my shoulders.

"Yes, she is... Any problem?"

Hector looked flustered and shook his head. "See that over there? That's mine. My baby. But I ain't cutting her loose tonight," he said, pointing at his car.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because I'm going legit, homey. Trying to get on the NIRA circuit. Heard about that?" he inquired.

"Hell, yeah," Brian replied, and I nodded, though I didn't know what he was talking about.

"So, what's up with you, man? Not on a date, I believe," Hector asked.

"Nah, man, nothing like that... I'm just waiting for Toretto," Brian replied.

"Shit! Better get in line. This yours?" A black guy approached and asked.

"Who is he?" I asked Hector.

"He's Edwin, one of the racers today," Hector replied, and I nodded.

"I'm standing next to it," Brian replied, and Edwin laughed. "That's funny. You know, Edwin happens to know a few things."

"And one of the things Edwin knows is, it's not how you stand by your car... it's how you race your car. You better learn that. Oh, shit. Here they come."
