Akira's POV

I spotted Luke stepping out of a room with Nobody, now dressed in fresh clothes. Grinning, I sauntered over. "Nobodyyyyy, where's my daily dose of drugs?" I teased, earning a laugh from him.

"You'll get it eventually. Welcome to my new base," he said, motioning grandly toward a see-through door. "This is nowhere."

"It's a little... sterile for you," Luke commented as the door slid open.

Inside, I froze. My friends-Letty, Ramsey, Rome, and Tej-were all in handcuffs, their faces ranging from annoyed to livid. They turned to look at me, and I awkwardly waved like nothing was wrong.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. What? Handcuffs? What is this?" Nobody asked, clearly caught off guard.

"It's called abuse of power," Rome deadpanned, throwing me a sharp glare.

Great. Should've answered his calls when I had the chance.

"You told me to round them up," Nobody's Junior said defensively. "I didn't tell you to handcuff them!" Nobody shot back. "Cut 'em loose. Oh, man, this is embarrassing."

Junior scrambled to unlock the cuffs, and Letty rubbed her wrists feeling herself. "So, this is how you treat old friends now?" she asked in faux offense.

I pulled her into a hug, then Ramsey and Tej. "Sorry, Loca," Letty muttered as she pulled back. "You gave us a fright there."

"Friends?" Tej chimed in, eyeing Nobody suspiciously. "We don't even know who the hell this guy is."

"Doesn't matter who I am, Tej," Nobody cut in smoothly. "I'm, like, nobody. Okay? Nobody."Tej wasn't buying it. "So then, who's he?" he asked, pointing at the officer hovering nearby.

"Him? He's nothing. He's, like, less than me," Nobody quipped, shrugging.

"Clearly, we're getting nowhere with nobody," Rome gets up and heading straight for me.

I braced myself. He was mad-scratch that, very mad. He stopped inches from me, crossing his arms. "You know what's coming, right?" he asked, his tone low.

I nodded, not even trying to argue.

Then came the slap.

Luke moved to step in, but I raised a hand, stopping him.

Rome wasn't done. "Two weeks! You disappeared-no calls, no messages, no nothing!" He snapped before pulling me into a bone-crushing hug.

"I'm sorryyyy," I mumbled, guilt laced in my voice.

Rome finally let me go, "Did it hurt?"

I chuckled, rubbing my cheek. "It's, I've had better." A teasing smile crept onto my face as I thought about Brian.

The only guys who've ever had the guts to slap me are my homies.

"Sir, the hot chocolate you ordered..." Nobody's Junior appeared, holding out a steaming cup.

I practically skipped over to grab it. "Nobody, I loooovvvveee youuuuu," I said, dramatically elongating my words as I took a sip.

Then, cup in hand, I strolled over to the far end of the table, plopped into a chair, and propped my feet up on the one next to me.

"I've been in here for four hours, and my ribs are showing. I don't know about y'all, but I'm out," Rome announced, heading for the door.

"I wouldn't recommend that," Nobody's Junior said casually.

Rome stopped and turned. "What?"

"Well," Junior said, his tone annoyingly chipper, "thanks to your botched Berlin job, you all made Interpol's Top 10 Most Wanted list."
