A Month Later~~

Akira's POV

"Ever thought about building a life together?" Han asked, giving Gisele that look so full of love I nearly gagged.

"Aren't we doing that?" she flirted back.

"Are we?" he teased, their eyes locking.

"Okay, stop! My single self is feeling attacked," I butted in, waving a hand like I was swatting their love aura away.

"Oh, sorry, forgot you were here," Han quipped, not even trying to hide his smirk. "Ha ha, you're hilarious," I rolled my eyes.

We were sitting outside a bustling restaurant, inhaling some fire Chinese food. "When you guys invited me to Hong Kong, I thought we'd have fun," I grumbled, twirling my cold noodles.

"We are having fun," Han said, barely holding back a laugh. "No! We're not! I feel like the third wheel on a just-married getaway," I complained, earning a synchronized laugh from both of them.

Groaning, I slurped more noodles when, out of nowhere, the police rolled up. Guns were drawn, but instead of a shootout, they handed us a phone.

Han answered it, looking confused. "Hello? Dom?" he said, glancing at me with raised eyebrows. Naturally, I eavesdropped shamelessly.

"Come to London. We've got a job," Dom's voice crackled through. "Thought Rio was supposed to be the last one," Han replied surprised.

"It's Letty," Dom said, his tone heavy. I snatched the phone so fast it was borderline rude. "You better not be joking," I said in disbelief.

"I'm not."

"Does Brian know?" I pressed.

"Not yet," Dom admitted.

"Alright, we'll head out tomorrow. Let's get her back," I declared, slamming the phone.

The next day, Dom and I met up at the airport, ready to track down Brian. We found him in his yard, chilling with Mia and baby Jack.

"Oh, look, it's Uncle Dom and Aunt Aki," Brian said in this fake kiddie voice as we approached.
"What's good, Uncle Dom? Aunt Aki?" he teased further.

Right next to Jack was a toy-sized blue Skyline. Cute. I picked Jack up, but the kid immediately started bawling his lungs out. 'Rude!'

I handed him back to Brian like he was radioactive, and the crying stopped instantly. Brian couldn't stop laughing. "Wow, still not great with kids, huh?" he joked.

"Why do babies hate me?!" I groaned, patting my face. "Do I look that scary?" Brian nearly choked from laughing too hard. "No comment."

Once Jack was inside for his nap, we sat around the backyard table, cracking open some beers. "You ever feel weird?" Brian asked out of nowhere.

"Weird how?" I said, side-eyeing him while sipping my drink.

"I mean, we've got everything—beer, barbecue, the whole setup—but it still doesn't feel like home," he said, staring at his bottle like it held answers.

"Maybe because you don't realize how much you love something until it's gone," Brian added,
I smacked the back of his head lightly. "Stop with the emo monologue. Just give it time!"

"Yeah, yeah, you're probably right," he said, rubbing the spot where I smacked him. "So, what's up? What's the deal?"

Dom slapped a brown envelope on the table. Brian opened it and scanned the contents.
"Taken a week ago," I explained, leaning forward.
