*Cadence's POV*

Cadence, just send the message. Everything will be okay, just...send the message, I tell myself.

But I knew that when I tell myself everything will be okay...it won't be.

I send the message finally, then set my phone down and sip from my coffee. I lean back into my booth's cushioning and fix my sunglasses back onto the bridge of my nose.

I was sitting in a small Starbucks, sitting alone. But maybe I wouldn't be alone soon enough.

Normally I would take off my sunglasses because I don't want to be that weird person that wears sunglasses indoors...but it was necessary.

My phone buzzes and my heart leaps. I grab my phone and bring it back to right in front of my face and scan the new message on my screen.

"Matthew: Okay. Be there in 10...Is everything alright?"

I wish I could dodge Matt's question, but then he would already have the answer to it. I sigh and reply back with "No. Just...Hurry up please."

After that Matt didn't respond. He was probably already driving over.

I just need to talk to him. I just need to finally tell him everything that's going on so that the unbearable weight would finally be off my shoulders.

I keep my hands around my coffee cup so that the warmth would heat up my freezing hands.

It was snowing outside, making me shiver even though I was inside. But I guess the weather matched my mood.

The bell on the door rings, meaning someone new has entered. My attention looks up to see Matt entering the Starbucks, scanning the room for me.

Matt was wearing a black rain jacket and black jeans. His hair was wet from the sleet so it was sticking to his forehead and was a darker shade of blonde.

Once Matt sees me alone in my booth, I awkwardly wave to him and he nods towards me and walks over to me.

I stand and he embraces me right away, making my already damp clothes wet. I didn't care though. I needed the affection.

"Hi Cadence" Matt coos while stretching out my name.

I hug Matt back and rest my cheek on his shoulder for a short moment, then pull away and sit across from him in the booth.

"So..." Matt starts, but then he finally notices my sunglasses that disguised my eyes behind their dark lenses.

"Oh no" Matt says while smiling and leaning back in shock.

I frown. "What?"

Matt smirks. "You're one of those douche bags that wear sunglasses inside now, aren't you? Damn you've changed in the past day."

I have the sudden energy to laugh a little, and then fix my sunglasses onto my nose again.

"Yeah I guess I am now" I say while chuckling.

Matt frowns and says "But seriously why are you wearing those?"

I purse my lips, my smile disappearing, and defend by saying "It's sunny out!" but then I glanced outside and noticed it was raining.

My shoulders slump.

Matt leans forward and says "Cadence I don't want you lying to me...take off the glasses."

I lean back and cross my arms in refusal. "I don't want to."

"Cadence" Matt says my name sterner making me flinch.
