The day went by so fast. I was exhausted, to say the least, and to make matters worse we had been stuck in traffic for over an hour before we got back to our place. But, we finally made it back and we were surprised to see Troy in Logan's penthouse.
This was our big surprise, seeing our other best friend, Troy. He was cooking up a storm when we got there, completely pampering us with sandwiches, pasta, dessert, and so much more.
"Troy? Oh my God, what are you doing here? Oh, I am so happy to see you." I hugged him tightly, embracing him from how much I had missed him.
Since he took over his grandma's company, I rarely get to see him, he seems to always be traveling. I guess Logan knew I was missing my best friend, and they had both gotten together to arrange for Troy to be here.
"Hey, baby girl. I miss you guys," he replied as he engulfed into a big bear hug.
"Have you been here a long time? It looks like you cooked for a week in here. Oh, you made your famous panettone French toast, yum." I said as my eyes went wide. I can already taste the sweet buttery flavor in my mouth. He was an amazing cook, from what Logan tells me, Troy was the cook for them during their college years.
He chuckles as I immediately grab a plate and stack a heap load of the yummy Italian dessert and pour loads of butter on top of them and digging right in.
I moaned and closed my eyes as I was engulfed in the sweet heavenly taste. "You are so spoiled, you know that?" Lexie says as she rolls her eyes, and grabs a plate for herself. I giggle and nod my head, grabbing another big bite and taking a seat on the stool next to the kitchen island.
"I had called Logan to invite you guys to a game happening tonight, someone gave me free tickets. But, he told me he and Dylan and the boys had come to see Michael?" he says it as if questioning whether that was correct. I nodded my head since my mouth was full of panettone French toast.
"And he said you guys were out here, so, here I am. I figured it was the perfect time to catch up with you guys. We rarely spend time like before. I miss you girls." he says as he sits next to me and engulfs Lexie in another bear hug.
"Yeah, that's true. I miss high school days when it was always just the three of us." Lexie states making my heart ping.
I rarely talked to anyone back then. I mean, I wasn't a total loner, but I preferred to stay alone or hang out with Lexie and Troy. "I do miss those days. Remember when we used to spend weekends helping out in Sophie's parent's vineyard?" Lexie says pointing towards me, making me smile.
Troy's eyes widen as he snaps his fingers with a big smile, "Oh God, remember when your dad's stable had to be repaired?" he says pointing at Lexie. We all burst into laughter as we remembered that weekend.
"He made us clean so much manure, it was insane." we laughed so hard as we began remembering that event.
Lexie was used to all that hard farmhouse work and taking care of all of her farm animals, but my parents, though I did help around a lot, never really let me do much hard labor. They always told me to focus on my studies, so that's what I did.
"By the end of the day, we were so covered in horse and cow poop that I was sure we would smell like that for weeks on end. I swear I walked around the school thinking we still stank." Troy and Lexie chuckled. Troy bent forward laughing so hard, I was sure he was going to have a stomach ache.
"But you know, till this day, dad was so grateful to you guys. All his helping hands were so busy. That same weekend was when all our cattle had to be vaccinated, and one of our horses was about to have her foal. But, I really do miss living there. Just as much as I miss these days with you guys." she says getting a hug from Troy. I stand up, and hug them both, getting a sigh and a bright smile from both.
"You know, I'm glad you came, T. You made my day brighter. I love you guys." I said, placing an arm over each.
The day went by better and better as the sun began setting. We ate so much food, drank so much wine, and when it was close to bedtime, the doorbell rang. Troy answered the door and came back with a bright smile.
A huge bouquet of roses in his hands, with an envelope and a big gold box.
"Wow, what is that?" I asked him as he smiled from ear to ear. "It's not mine, sunshine," he says placing the bouquet in front of me.
Logan had sent a beautiful bouquet of Roses along with red gerbera daisies and a huge box of chocolate-covered strawberries. Lexie and Troy dug right in, moaning and taking big bites from the strawberries.
When night came, Johnny and Ethan stopped by, and all though going out seemed like a good idea, I was more content to stay home and talk to my boys.
Lexie and Troy left with them to Johnny's performance, while I went and took a long hot bubble bath.
After my bath, I served myself a nice cup of tea, ate the rest of the strawberries, and called my boys. Hearing their voice always makes my day... Or night. I can't wait to go back home tomorrow with them.
The phone rang twice before it was answered, "Hi, mommy. Did you like your strawberries? I picked them, did you like the gold ones, those were my favorite." Nathan answered making me smile.
"Hi, baby. Yes, I loved them. I knew they were from you. Thank you, baby. How are you guys?"
This was a good end to my day. I love my boys so much. I can't wait to see them.
