There was no use in hiding her identity anymore. Jungwon had seen her face through her reflection on the water. Yeonseo slowly let go of her hair and looked at him, seeing him already staring at her with startled eyes.

"Yeonseo-yah, meet Lord Yang Jungwon. He's the highest-ranked minister in this kingdom. And he's one of my most trusted men," Sunoo happily introduced. He stopped talking and glanced at them both, realising the tension becoming awkward.

"Yah, why do you guys look like you had just seen a ghost?"

Jungwon cleared his throat and bowed, "Your Highness."

Yeonseo's heart dropped at the sight of him bowing at her. She looked away and kept quiet. "If you'll excuse me, Your Majesty. I came here to inform you about our upcoming meeting but I see that you're quite busy right now," the nobleman said.

"No, no. It's fine. Yeonseo-yah, I'll go first. Make sure to always eat your medicine," Sunoo said before following his best friend.

She was left alone at the lake with Baekhee who stood behind her. Yeonseo faced the lake and sat on the ground, still shocked that her identity was blown away.

I should've just ran away before the nobleman even got here!

Lord Yang Jungwon? I've never heard of him before? Perhaps his artefacts were still in the ground when I got here? That's why there are no stories about him yet?

"Your Highness! Are you okay?" Baekhee asked as she held her arm. Yeonseo sighed, "He wasn't supposed to see my face."

Yeonseo tapped her fingers continuously on the table as she wanted for Baekhee to return with the things she asked her to find. The court lady opened the library doors and placed a brush pen next to her.

She then put an empty book in front of the princess, "Here is the book and brush pen that you asked for, Your Highness."

Yeonseo smiled and thanked her before rolling her sleeves up to her elbows. She then picked up the brush pen and dipped it into the black ink before writing words on the first page of the book. Baekhee widened her eyes in shock at her writing style.

Yeonseo noticed she was looking at her in surprise and frowned, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, Your Highness. It's just that...your handwriting has gone different."

That's right. Princess Yeonseo was known to have the best handwriting.

She looked at the page and saw that her handwriting looked like a three-year-old's work. She shrugged the thoughts away and tried to think of a title to give to the book.

Baekhee's eyes brightened up, "How about 'The Princess's Notes'?"

"It's too long. I need something interesting yet simple. Who knows? Maybe future archaeologists can find it?"

The court lady looked at her confusedly. Yeonseo smiled and wrote 'Yeonseo's Journal' on the cover. Baekhee grinned excitedly, "That's better, Your Highness!"

"You may leave the library. You can go rest for a while. I want some privacy," Yeonseo requested politely. The court lady smiled and bowed before leaving the room.

She exhaled heavily and dipped the brush into the ink once again before writing the first paragraph.

In the year 1722, the third month.

I woke up from a coma a few days ago. And I seemed to have lost all of my memories. Well, kinda? Anyway, I tried to escape the palace. That was until I met an unknown, arrogant, rude, annoying nobleman.

"Should I really write that?"

She shrugged the thoughts away and continued writing.

I was hoping he would just know me as Oh Baekhee, the princess's court lady. That was until we both met again at the lake. He accidentally saw who I really am through the reflection on the water. I was kinda stupid. I should've just run away.

I've never heard of him before. Being here in the East Kingdom makes me want to explore more. And I'll find out what happened to Princess Yeon–

"Scratch that," she sighed.

There may be enemies in the palace that are waiting to attack me. I must keep my guard up and make sure to be safe.

She ended the paragraph with a full stop. She closed the book and stared at the title. "If my dad finds this book, he's probably going to say that I'm the reincarnation of the princess because the handwriting is similar."

She laughed to herself and traced the letters on the book cover. The door suddenly opened, revealing Jungwon in his formal attire. She stood up in surprise before clearing her throat.

He realised she was standing at the table and bowed, "Forgive me, Your Highness. I didn't know you were here. I'll just come back another time."

"Wait!" Her word stopped him. She walked towards him and was about to say something when she missed her step.

Her hand let go of the book as she fell on him. His hands held her waist to make her fall on top of him. He tried to prevent her from landing on the floor and hurt herself.

The next thing that took them by surprise was how their lips accidentally touched when they landed on the floor. Jungwon widened his eyes, his hands were still around her waist.

Did we just...
