The three make their way inside the home and take their seats in the living room. Y/N still feeling a bit if-y about the situation, her and DeVoue kept glancing at each other before she kept herself occupied by looking around the room. Marlize, who was the woman that answered the door were serving them lemonade.
"I hope it's not too sweet." Marlize tells them.
They all picked up their cups as Y/N sniffed it before Barry gave her a small nudge. She quickly drinks it and it wasn't bad at all. She then puts her cup down and leans back in her seat.
"Mm." Joe said, placing his cup down.
"This is amazing." Barry says.
"Just like my wife." Clifford said, Marlize taking a seat next to him, "Somehow she finds time to take care of me and still keep an immaculate household. And her three-cheese macaroni? Second to none."
Joe smiles and Marlize chuckles, Clifford continues, "Sometimes I think I'm the luckiest man alive." He glances at Y/N as Barry notices, she looked away from him, "How can I help?"
"The name DeVoe came up in an investigation of ours." Barry tells him, "We would just like to ask you some questions, if that's okay."
"Why him?" Marlize questions them, "DeVoe's a common name."
"Yes, I'd wager at least 1,100 individuals give or take a few with that last name in the Central City area alone." Clifford adds.
"The name's been identified for it's connection to four separate criminal cases." Joe informs them.
"So you think my husband is a witness to these crimes?" Marlize asked.
"Not at all." Y/N shakes her head, "We just want to make sure his name doesn't appear again. Don't wanna get bother by cops again, do you?"
"Of course not." Clifford responds, "Do go ahead."
"So, professor, what brought you to Central City?" Joe asked.
"I grew up in South Africa. After studying history and economics at the University of Johannesburg." Clifford tells them, Barry looking at the man skeptically, "I took a teaching position at Oxford. That's where we met."
Marlize nods with a smile, "He swept me off my feet and we have been together ever since."
"It did take a tenured offer from Central City University to lure me away from the Oxford faculty." Clifford said, "That was four years ago."
"Question: Do you know Ramsey Decon?" Joe asked, handing him a picture of the man.
Clifford looks at it before looking back at Joe, "No, should I?"
"What about Becky Sharpe?" Barry asked, holding up the picture of her.
"No, I'm afraid not." Clifford shakes his head.
"Ralph Dibny?" Barry holds his picture, the man shakes his head, Barry holds a different picture up, "Mina Chaytan?"
"Mina Chaytan." Clifford takes the picture from him, "Now, that name's familiar."
"Isn't this the Native American woman that left abruptly?" Marlize says, looking at Clifford, "You know, the anthropologist?"
"Yes, I remember." Clifford nods, "I was so sad to see her go."
"You were colleagues." Joe says, "Did she mentioned her work?"
"No, no, no. Mina was an animated women." Clifford tells them, Barry narrowing his eyes on him, "Then again, people like us who see education as a calling, we often are."
