"I'll see you at practice." Max told me before leaving me in front of my Driver's ED classroom.
Is there an advice column out there for girls who are secretly having a relationship with their teacher, but covering it up with a ‘fake’ relationship? Max invited me to dinner with him for our first date, and I really don’t want to go but what else am I going to say? ‘No, I don’t want to go with you I would much rather go with Coach Jameson’? I don’t think that would go over very well.
I shook the thought out of my head and pranced into the room. Mr. Jameson was sitting behind the computer screen. "Good afternoon, Robyn."
I flashed him a welcoming smile. "Where are we off to today?" I asked with interest.
"I'll point you in the direction, but first you got to go warm the car up." He said with a smirk.
He tossed me the car keys and I groaned. It’s freezing and there is snow on the ground. "Can't we just stay inside, drink hot chocolate, and get to know each other more?"
"That wouldn't be professional, now would it?" He asked looking back at the computer screen, the corner of his lips slightly pulled up.
Another groan freely escaped my lips; I grabbed my jacket and headed into the icy cold weather. I was greeted by the brisk winter wind. I zipped up my winter coat and headed to the other side of the school parking lot. I almost slipped on some ice, but I eventually made it without falling. I started the car and turned the heat on full blast.
Five minutes later I saw Mr. Jameson making his way towards the car. I was about to take my eyes away from the rear view mirror, when I saw him slip, he was very close to falling but he regained his composure and finished the walk to the car.
"Did you have a nice trip?" I said with the exact smirk he gave me earlier.
He stuck his tongue out. "It’s nice and toasty in here."
I laughed. "It better be since you took forever to get out here." He rolled his eyes and I asked. "Where to?"
"I'm feeling a little hungry, how about you?" He asked patting his stomach.
"I guess so. I mean that's why they have lunch at school."
"Yeah, but don't you ever get tired of eating the school's lunch?"
Is he trying to ask me out to lunch? "All the time."
"Let’s go somewhere different then."
I shrugged. "Fine by me. Just point me in the direction you want to eat."

We ended up going to a little cafe called, DiMarco's. When we pulled into the parking lot, there were only three cars total. I chose an easy parking spot and we walked in.
"Good afternoon, table for two?" A middle-aged lady asked.
I nodded and she directed us to a booth by the window. "What can I get you two to drink?"
"I'll have a Dr. Pepper and she'll have..." Mr. Jameson's eyes moved from the waitress to me.
"Root beer," She scribbled on her notepad and walked away. "Thanks for taking me out to eat." I said gratefully.
"I thought you were taking me out. I didn't bring any money."
My face fell. "Are you serious?"
