𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐰𝐨

Renner Opal was arriving at an old Justice League base in Happy Harbor, per Batman's order. Renner was beginning to really regret referring to the medical attention as another favour, he would've done it either way.

He was wearing another simple outfit, a white button-up and jeans with a fox mask this time, a lot less fancy because he wasnt going into the public. He was literally going to live under a rock for at least the next month.

That's what Batman had wanted him to do, join the team and live in the cave, since the sixteen-year-old was out of a paying job and a home.

Renner arrived by plane, not that he could fly it. It was, again, Batman who got him there since he was the one putting him there in the first place. "I'm starting to think you just like having me around" Renner commented, laughing before holding his neck, which was a little sore after a week of healing.

"Would you rather have me let you walk the rest of the way?" Batman responded, voice monotone as ever. Renner only smirked and didnt respond.

The pair arrived just as the supposed team was heading in, causing them to halt and turn to see the oddly shaped black plane land. As Renner left, he waved to Batman "I'm never going to ask you for a favour again!" He shouted, to which Batman pinched the bridge of his nose, annoyed, before leaving.

"Anemoi? What are you doing here, I thought you had a crushed windpipe?" Robin greeted him, acting as though they've known each other a while. "Its all healed, well, mostly..." Renner padded around the area of his neck, which was very bruised, looking purple and yellow.

"I like the mask" He commented, looking up at the fox mask. "Eh, it's one of my older ones" Renner commented, walking over to join the group. "I think you just got more unsettling to look at" Kid Flash commented. "We can start the tour now."

Miss Martian led them throughout the cave's entirety. Eventually, they made it back up to the main area, where they continued to talk about the cave's origin. "It was actually hollowed out by Superman and Green Lantern in the early days of the league" Kid Flash explained.

"Then why abandon it for the Hall of Justice?" Superboy asked. Renner knew this one. "The cave's secret location was compromised" Renner explained, answering the question.

"So they traded it for a tourist trap? Yeah, that makes sense" Superboy scoffed. "If villans know of the cave, we must be on constant alert" Miss M worried. "The bad guys know we know they know about the place,so they'd never think to look here" Robin explained, grabbing her hand.

It only seemed to confuse her more and Kid Flash further explained in an easier to understand way. "Ah, that's.. much clearer..." Renner suddenly smelt something different than stale air in the place, something like.. smoke "I smell smoke" Superboy commented before Renner could say anything.

Miss M was appalled by the remark, exclaiming something about cookies, promptly flying to the kitchen area. "I was trying out Grammy Jones' recipe from episode seventeen of- ah, nevermind" She cut herself off. "I bet they'd have tasted tasted great" Robin said while Renner and Kid Flash took a cookie.

"They dont seem to mind" He turned to look at the two. "I havent had real food in my mouth since this guy over here crushed my windpipe, sorry" Renner remarked sarcastically, motioning towards Superboy "I have a serious metabolism" Kid Flash explained himself.

"I'll.. make more?" Miss M said hesitantly. "It was sweet of you to make any" Aqualad assured "Thanks, Aqualad" She replied. "We're off duty, call me Kaldur'ahm. Actually, my friends call me Kaldur" Aqualad, now Kaldur, said.

"I'm Wally-" To which Renner spit out part of his cookie at the way he said "-See? I already trust you with my secret ID" Kid Flash, now Wally, glared at Renner. "Unlike Mr. Dark Glasses over here. Batman's forbidden Boy Wonder from telling anyone his real name. And we still don't know anything about Mask, over here" Renner pushed him into Kaldur using his powers at that remark.

"Hey!" Wally exclaimed. "You know my name, so use it" Renner growled. Miss M ignored the two "Mine's no secret! M'gann M'orzz, but you can call me Megan, its an earth name and I'm on earth now" She sounded incredibly excited to be saying that.

That prompted Superboy to leave, but as he was walking, he growled and turned suddenly, yelling at M'gann to get out of his head. "What's wrong? I dont understand?" Renner heard M'gann's voice in his head, to which his eyes widened and let out a shout of surprise.

"Everybody communicates telepathically on mars" M'gann remarked, telepathically. "Stop, please.." Renner pleaded, remembering his last experience with someone telepathic, it didnt end as well as Superboy's did.

"Things are different on earth" Kaldur explained "Here, your powers are an extreme invasion of privacy" He continued. "And extremely stressing, apparently" Kid Flash remarked somewhat rudely, looking at Renner who was regaining his grip on the present, and out of bad memories. "Im-Im sorry, I didnt mean to.." M'gann tried to apologize "Just stay out" Superboy said, leaving.

"Hello M'gann! I know what we can do!" M'gann exclaimed, walking off down a hallway. The group followed M'gann to a large room, where a small red pod sat at the bottom of a red circle. "It's my bioship!"M'gann explained, gesturing to it.

"Not aerodynamic, but cute" Wally said "It's at rest, silly! I'll wake it" The red pod became a larger, more aerodynamic plane, and it turned around to let the group inside. They walked in hesitantly, Renner taking an even more hesitant seat next to Robin.

"Red Tornado, please the Bay doors" Said doors opened and M'gann flew the group out of the cave. Robin felt a sense of worry for Renner, who hadn't said a word to anyone, not even to yell at Wally again.

"Hey, Anemoi" Robin caught Renner's attention "Did you catch the view?" He pointed to the window the looked over Happy Harbor. Renner smiled, the view was definitely pretty great. "Are you.." Robin hesitated "Are you feeling better?"

It wasnt really Robin to ask such questions, usually not having to considering his usual environment, but it had changed now and since he was the one that dragged Renner into this mess, he felt that he was responsible for all that was happening to the mysterious man.

Renner tried to smile a bit in response "I'm.. better. My past might run a little deeper than you think..." Renner said, smirking. "Mine, too" Robin replied, also holding a playful smirk. Robin turned to speak to M'gann "How about you show us a little martian shape shifting?" He asked, trying to take the previous topic out of mind.

M'gann looked a little hesitant, but stood up and shifted into a more female looking version of Robin, then copying Kid Flash. She tried Renner's look next, "Man, I look weird like that" Was Renner's only comment.

"Impressive! But you know you're not exactly going to fool anyone with those" Robin clapped. "Mimicking boys is a lot harder.." She explained "And your clothes?" Aqualad questioned "They're organic, like the ship! They respond to my mental commands" She answered.

Superboy made a remark that brought down the general mood, Renner personally finding it quite rude. "Can you do that ghosting through walls thing that Martian Manhunter does?" Wally asked, changing topic. "Density shifting? No... it's a very advanced technique.." M'gann sounded disappointed in herself.

"Flash can vibrate his molecules right through a wall, when he tries it? Bloody nose" Robin laughed "Dude!" Wally retaliated. "Here's something I can do, camouflage mode" There was no change to the interior, but outside the extending limbs of the plane weren't visible.
