Naruto was in a good mood while walking home. He had changed that village for the better, and had gained an ally in Ame and Konan, the former co-leader of the notorious group, now village leader. He had also gotten vengeance on the group for his brothers and sisters, with a good fight along with it.
He stopped at a small village along the way in order to get some food and new clothes, since he was going around top less and it was cold outside. He even caught some of the girls checking him out, and some guys looking jealous.
He got a new short-sleeve blue shirt, and a custom made black haori with red flames on the edges instead of the former blue flames. The same color scheme as the akatsuki cloak. He wore it in honor of Nagato and his dream of a new, peaceful world.
He left the village, and made his way back home. When he entered the village, he saw the peaceful nature of the ones around him and in the village in general. He felt calm, hearing all the people around him talking about normal, everyday things. This was what he always wanted, he didn't want them to worry about the dangerous future, about possible incoming threats.
He thought about what pain had said. About how he lived in fear for his early life, and didn't want anyone else to live like he did. He understood him, he wanted the same thing, but he didn't know how he would get to that point. He thought about it since the talk, thought about ways to reach peace in ways where everyone can have it.
His house came into his view, and his mind instantly thought of something.
He entered his house and instantly, Fuu came up to him and started bombarding him with questions. "Whoa, calm down, calm down. Everything's fine, the akatsuki is gone, and our brothers and sisters have been avenged, but listen, I need to talk to you and Yui about something." Naruto said.
They gathered in the living room, and Naruto talked about what he and Nagato talked about. He talked about his dream of peace, and his efforts to try to reach it. He talked about how Nagato was going about creating peace the wrong way, and how he himself was now looking to create peace in secret.
"Yui, I'm no longer training you to become a shinobi." Naruto said, surprising the almost 9 year old. "I'm now training you so you can achieve world peace, something I am now unable to do."
"What? But why can't you do it?" Yui asked. "Because as far as the world is concerned, I'm dead. If I were to suddenly show up and tell everyone to stop fighting, then questions will be raised. And not about why I want them to stop, especially from Konoha. The world won't accept a ghosts' wishes. But...they might accept yours." Naruto explained.
Yui didn't know what to say. Could she really bring the entire world into peace? She didn't know if she could. But she'll try her hardest to achieve this seemingly impossible goal. "I'll try, I-I don't know if I can do it, but I'll at least try." She said still nervous.
Naruto smiled softly. "That's all I ask. Thank you for accepting this massive role. I'm sorry if this seems like a lot all of a sudden, but I'll train you the best I can. Just tell me if you can't keep up, because this training will be completely different from before, because now you have a major purpose." He warned.
Yui was now scared for her safety.
-1 week later-
Naruto wasn't kidding when he said this training will be much harder than before. The weights Yui wore doubled, and she now has to keep up with him when they go on runs together. The training got much more strict and Yui almost gave up a few times already. But with Naruto and Fuu's support, she bounced back every time, ready for more.
She had to spar with both of them as well, and even though she has improved, she still had a very hard time against Fuu, and it wasn't even fair against Naruto. But even through all of this, all the failed spars, all the failed attempts at trying high-ranking jutsu. She never gave up, and Naruto couldn't be prouder.
"You did good today Yui, go get some sleep, tomorrow's gonna be tough." Naruto said to the tired girl. She didn't respond, and just slowly walked up the stairs.
"You think you're pushing her too far?" Fuu asked Naruto after she heard a door upstairs close. "I mean, even I find these exercises kinda difficult. Do you even realize or do you not even feel it?" She asked. She didn't have to join them, but she didn't want to be left behind. And now, most of her body is sore from the amount of weights she had to carry around along with doing hundreds of each exercise.
"Honestly no, I don't feel these, but I do know that to you two, these are difficult to keep up. And I know that with her age, she shouldn't be putting her body through this kind of hell, for it could damage it. But she hasn't given up on anything yet, in fact, she has said that she is excited to soon, finally be on my level. If that's what's motivating her to keep going, then I don't want to stop her, I don't want to end that dream and make her focus on another that she didn't originally have."
"I understand your concern, but her motivation motivates me to train her to the absolute limits that her body can handle. She knows this, as well." Naruto concludes. Fuu was mostly relieved, but still couldn't feel that he still might be going a bit too hard on her. But Naruto knows what he's doing, he knows how much she can and can't take right now, so she trusted him.
"*sigh* Fine, just be careful with her." She said. "Of course, I'm gonna kill her with this. I'll know when I'm going too far and stop it right there, I promise." He said.
Naruto got up and made his way to the kitchen to get a snack, but was stopped when he heard someone knock on the front door. Fuu went to answer, and saw Shibuki standing there with a letter in his hand. Fuu let him in and Shibuki took a seat in the living room. Naruto entered the room with a bottle of water in hand.
"I'm glad both of you are here, I have news that both of you need to hear." Shibuki said. Both jinchuriki were now listening. "I have a letter from the tsuchikage requesting Fuu's appearance. I wanted to know if you agree to this." Naruto almost laughed at the boldness of the old man. "He's desperate. I can tell without reading the letter." Naruto said.
"Yeah, I'm gonna have to refuse that. I'm not falling for that trap." Fuu said.
"What do you think will happen if he gets that message?" Shibuki asked worryingly. "I don't know that old man very well, but I do know that he'll do anything to get what he wants. If worse comes to worse, I'll go over with you and you can tell him yourself, since you represent the village and all." Naruto said, Shibuki became worried, if he had to tell Onoki what they wanted, then their village might be in trouble.
"I'm sure it won't have to come to that...hopefully." Shibuki said. "Well, that's all I came to tell you, be ready for anything regarding them. I don't know what that old man has going through his head nowadays. Stay safe you two." He said before leaving.
"That old son of a bitch needs to be replaced already, he'll run Iwa into the ground at this rate. Can't believe he's getting so bold about it though." Naruto said in annoyance. "Old man syndrome is getting to him. Now he thinks everything belongs to him because he's old and gets cranky when he doesn't get it." Fuu joked, making Naruto laugh out loud.
"You're right about that, I hope I don't get like that when I'm old." Naruto said. Fuu was the one that laughed this time. "Don't lie to yourself, you're definitely gonna be like that!" She said, barely holding her laughter in.
"Hey, I'm humble." He said, making her laugh even more. "I'm sure that's what Onoki also said when he was your age. You don't know how you'll act when you're old." Fuu's laughter died down a little.
"Anyway, I don't wanna accidentally wake up Yui laughing at you, so I'll be at my house if you need me. See ya tomorrow old man." She said opening the front door and leaving. "We're the same age, dammit!" Naruto yelled to deaf ears. He sighed and leaned back into his chair, laughing to himself.
He thought back to his siblings, and how only four remain, the six, seven, eight, and himself. Gaara was one of them, but when Shukaku was extracted, Konoha had saved him along with his pseudo-grandmother, Chiyo, giving her life to save him. Ever since then, Konoha, at least the Konoha 11, their sensei's, and his grandma, Tsunade, had gained a new respect from him. And he knows they care for him, why else would they go so far to get him back. His view on them changed for the better.
He was happy that they had become some-what heros to the land around them. He couldn't be prouder that the former hell he lived in has become an actual home.
He couldn't be prouder that they're learning from their mistakes.
