46 - Importance

The remnants of team 7 walked through the small temporary camp. All they could see were injured people, thanks to a war that didn't even need to happen. Eventually, they made their way to a large tent and entered it, gaining the attention of the occupants: the rest of the Konoha 11 and their sensei's.

Sakura immediately went to check on Choji since he was the only one who was majorly injured with him losing his hands.

"About time you checked up on your actual teammates." Shikamaru said with venom in his voice as soon as he saw Sasuke enter the tent. "Is he okay?" Sasuke asked him. "Tch. Don't ask me." Sakimaru said, looking at the awake Choji.

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine, and Shika's just in a bad mood right now." Choji said to Sasuke with a smile on his face. "You're not fine!" Shikamaru said. "You lost your hands and may never be a shinobi again, and you're fine with that? Quit lying to Sasuke. He doesn't deserve it." Shikamaru said while crossing his arms in annoyance.

"Shika, stop!" Choji yelled to calm his friend down, but it fell on deaf ears as Kiba began to speak. "No, Shika's right, Choji. Sasuke would've rather tried to bring the one who tried to kill us all back to life than come help the people who he hurt." Kiba walked up to Sasuke and put his finger on his chest. "To me, you're no better than him, so get out of our tent." Kiba spat at Sasuke.

"Kiba! That's enough." Kakashi yelled, pulling Kiba's attention away from Sasuke. "I agree he should've come here first, but arguing about this and splitting us up over this isn't something we should be doing right now. What's done is done, and we should move past it."

"Well, it's obvious you would take his side, isn't it." Kiba said. "I'm not taking his side, I said he was wrong, I'm just saying, Naruto was our friend and he suffered greatly after leaving us, we should at least respect him." Kakashi said. "And that justifies him trying to kill us?!" Kiba yelled.

"I...I'm not arguing with you anymore, I just said we should move past this." Kakashi said. "Like how we moved past you leaving, right?" Kiba said towards Sasuke. "Yeah you came back, but you left because you wanted power, right? Power you could've gotten here with us."

"Kiba, I think you should stop." Shino said stoically to his teammate.

"No...he's right." Sasuke said while looking down in shame. "I don't know why I went there first. Maybe I wanted him to see if he was okay. Maybe I just wanted to make sure he was dead. I honestly don't know what I wanted...it's obvious you don't want me here, so I'll go ahead and leave you alone." Sasuke said while using as much willpower as he could to keep the tears from falling, completing his look with a small fake smile.

Sasuke turned around and left the tent, with Sakura and Kakashi both trying to get him to stop. Sakura desperately wanted to go and help him, but she knew she would get chewed out like him if she did. So she changed Choji's bandages and left the tent saying she was going to heal the other injured.

After leaving the tent, she looked around to see if she saw him, but she couldn't. She did see the trio of Madara, Hashirama, and Tobirama walking into the small tent Obito was being kept in.

She went up to a walking shinobi and asked if he had seen where Sasuke went.

"I bearly saw him, but he ran over towards the coast." The shinobi said while pointing in the direction of the sea. Sakura looked in that direction, and saw the shoreline out in the distance, now being able to see a person was standing near the water. The thanked the shinobi and ran over to Sasuke.

Sakura ran up to Sasuke, and stood behind him, staring at him as he looked out to the open waters.

"I really did want him alive you know." Sasuke said, already knowing Sakura was behind him. "That's why I went to him first...I knew full well what I was doing." He said.
