"Dinner was delicious. Thank you." I sigh smiling.
"Your welcome." Karen said.
"Mama?" Eden asked turning towards me.
"Yes love?" Looking down at her, her big brown eyes were red and puffy. "Eden?" Her eyes start to close and she begins to fall. "Eden!" I swoop to catch her. She passed out. My baby. Sam and Jake run to us and Sam kneels down.
"What happened?" He asked.
"I don't know!" I whimper. I looked up and didn't see Josh. Where was he? "Josh!" I yelled.
He came walking around the corner. "What's up? I was looking for Eden and-" and he sees her. His eyes go wide and he sprints for us. He falls to his knees next to me. "What happened?"
"I don't know!" I cried.
"Is she breathing?" Sam asked, his voice cracking. Jake leans down next to her to listen.
"Barely." He gets up. "I'm calling an ambulance." He runs over to the phone. I look over to Josh who's crying too.
"Josh." I have no idea what to do. What do I do?
"We need to go now." He says standing up. I nod and grab Eden and carry her to the car. Jake jumps in the drivers seat, Sam in the front too. I managed to crawl into the back while holding Eden. Josh gets in next to me.
"Eden." I cry looking down at her. My baby. I can head Sam yelling at Jake to go faster.
"Fucking drive faster Jake!" Sam yells.
"I'm trying not to get us killed!" Jake yells back. I look over to Josh who's crying too. He looks at me, then back to Eden. My heart is breaking.
We get to the hospital and I try to get Eden out of the car but I can't feel my arms and legs. Sam picks her up and carries her inside. We all follow him.
"Help!" I yell out. A nurse comes running to us looking at Eden. "She passed out, she's barely breathing!"
"Dr. Mayer!" She calls out. A tall man with a white coat comes running to us.
"We need a bed!" He tells the nurse. He picks Eden out of Sam's arms and brings her to the bed. The nurse and Doctor start wheeling her away, and I try to follow them. Other nurses follow them and one stops me.
"Please, go find a seat. We've got her." She says and runs back to Eden. I just stand there and watch them wheel my baby through doors that lead to the emergency rooms.
I can't feel my body. Just my heart beating out of my chest and my rapid breathing. Where are they taking her? What is going on? What's wrong with Eden? I can't hold it together. I'm shaking. I crumple to the floor and immediately feel arms around me.
"Hey, you need to sit." It's the boys. They pick my up and walk me to a chair. I sit down and tears are just falling. I look around me. Sam pacing at the doors where they took her, Jake sitting next to me, and josh kneeling on the floor holding my hands.
"It's going to be okay." Jake says. I look over to him and see concerned red eyes. I look to Sam. He has hands running through his hair and he's looking at his feet walking back and forth. I look to Josh. He's holding my hands and is crying. I squeeze his hands and he looks to me. I need a moment. I stand up shaky, but start to walk towards outside. Josh stands up too, but let's me walk alone. I feel sick. As soon as I reach the doors I bolt for a tree and throw up behind it. I feel my hair being pulled back.
"It's okay." Josh says. He's holding my hair and rubbing my back. "It's going to be okay." I finish throwing up my nerves and stand up. He pulls out a bandanna and I wipe my face.
