*Sam POV*
Okay. I'm done lying. This song is pretty good.
"Every memory lingers, with me yet! I got it bad like I told you BEFOREEEE OOOOO WOAHHH! I'm so in love with you, don't leave me no more!" I belt out singing in the car, windows down. Everyone in town is looking back at me in the car but I don't care. Such a good song! Dancing in my seat I see the record store and a man in front of it looking in the windows. Is that? Shit. I quickly pull into the parking lot of the store and get out. Mr. Picks. Fuck this guy. He made Eden's mom cry. I walk quickly over to him feeling my anger already begin to boil.
"Can I help you?" I ask. He turns to me.
"Who are you?" He asks.
"Sam. I'm best friends with Eden and her mom." I say. "Why are you looking through the windows of a privately owned property sir?" I spat. He just stared at me.
"Well. I'm seeing how much damage that woman has created." He said holding his stare.
"Well. Good thing she hasn't." I said. "Ya know, Mr. Picks," I sneered. "Your never going to get that store." He takes a step up to me and looks me up and down. I've got at least half a foot on him, and he's old. Easily could whoop his ass.
"Really?" He dead pans.
"Yes. Really. Because she would never sell it to an old hag like you. And I, especially, would buy and take care of it myself if she couldn't. But I'm not worried, because she's doing perfectly fine." I say. He chuckles.
"I guess you don't know the full situation." He said. I blink back at him. "She's late on payments. She can't afford to keep this place running for much longer." What? I thought Josh told me everything was fine. "So. If you excuse me, I'm going to go head to leave. Good day to you." And he walks off. I stand there in shock. Why didn't Josh say anything. I get back to the car and race home.
The boys were in the garage working on new music and I bust through the door. Completely unfazed, they continue to go through the music.
"Josh." I say. They all stop and look up at me. "Outside. Now." I turn to walk outside. I'm standing in the back yard waiting for him when I heard the back door open and close. I turn around to him. "Why didn't you say anything?"
"What?" He asks.
"Don't what? The store." I say.
"Oh. Yeah. I guess I forgot to mention it." He states. How can he be so calm about this. I look at him like he just said that stupidest thing, which, he definitely did.
"What the hell man." I shake my head.
"What? Why are you so upset about this? It's not your store." He yells.
"Doesn't matter Josh! That's our friends store! That's Eden's moms store! The woman you apparently care about." I roll my eyes.
"What the hell does that mean?" He says.
"Well in my brain, I would think to help out in any way that I can." I see his eyes drop down. "Those girls are special. To you, and to me. You haven't stepped up to help, haven't you." I ask. He shakes his head and shoots his eyes back to me.
"And you have?" He asks. I nod.
"I talked to Mr. Picks today. And! I know how to help them. And I'm going to help them." I say stomping back into the house. I walk to the garage. "I'm leaving. I gotta go watch Eden." I say. Jake and Danny yell bye and I see josh just walk past me. Unbelievable. This guy takes so much pride in "loving those girls" when he doesn't act like he does.
