Eden and i were setting up our blanket and setting out the food. I made sure to pack extra snacks, but i didn't know if it was enough.
"Do you think Sam will be here? Eden asked.
"I think so." I said.
"I like Sam. I also like Josh." She said Kuching on grapes. "I like them all. Danny is tall. Sammy is funny. Jake talks in a funny accent." She smiled up at me. I love her. Eden is my everything. I smiled back and heard mumbling behind us. Eden jumped up and saw Sam. I turned around and watched her race over to him. He swooped her up and put her on his shoulders. Jake was carrying a cooler and Danny was holding a tray of goodies. Josh smiled at me and waved. I did the same.
"Mama! Look how tall I am!" Eden yelled from Sam's shoulders.
"Wow! How's the weather up there?" I asked.
"Well. It's a little cool. Nice breeze. Possible rain." She said acting all serious. We all laughed and Sam put her down.
"Oooo. This looks good." Sam said practically drooling. Danny nodded. They both dove into the fruit.
"Thanks for the snacks." Jake said. I smiled and he put the cooler down next to me. I gave him a look and he put his finger to his lips as if I was about to see a secret. He lifted the cooler lid. WINE. Yes! He looked back at me. "You won't get drunk off of wine right?" He asked. I shook my head.
"Wine is like apple juice for me. If I want to get crazy tequila is my go to." I said. Josh laughed and sat down next to me. I looked at him and he smiled.
"Me too." He looked right into my eyes. We were even closer. His body radiating warmth. He smiled and I did too.
We drank some and the boys ate all the food.
"We should do this all the time!" Eden yelled. The boys nodded and agreed. I surprisingly had a great time too. We all were just talking about music. "Mama?" Eden said.
"Yes love?" I asked. She smirked. Oh no. Here we go.
"Can they stay for dinner?" She asked. I knew what she was doing. Sam perked up, as did Jake.
"Well. It's up to them." I said while starting to pack the stuff up.
"Yes!" "Totally!" "Duh!" We're all they said. Everyone jumped up and started putting things away. I laughed and folded the blankets.
I guess I'm making dinner.
