I wake up and Sam's not there. I sit up looking around and see a little note on the pillow.
Went to the store for breakfast. Be back soon!
I love you!XoXo Samuel
Smiling like a school girl, I get up and get dressed. Wearing the outfit Sam bought me, i toss my hair up, and slip some gold earrings in. Staring at myself in the mirror, I feel my mood shift. Last night.
I loved Sam. I wanted nothing more to have our own family together. Seeing Eden with a younger version of Sam, running through the garden. My heart sank when the test came back negative. Even though we've only just became official, I couldn't help but feel time was running out. Maybe it was because he was leaving.
I sigh and wipe my face and leave my room. I look into Eden's, seeing she's gone. I wonder through the hallway, and into the living room. Eden is asleep on the couch, hair all over her face. I smile and push the hair back, kissing her cheeks gently.
"I love you." I whisper, kissing her cheek again. I thank the universe everyday that Eden doesn't look like her dad. I don't know how I could handle that. Sighing, I walk into the kitchen and see Sam chopping away at something.
"Good morning." I smile at him. He turns around and grins. He sets everything down and walks to me, pulling me into a tight embrace. He nuzzles into my neck, kissing me softly in that sensitive spot, causing me to melt. I giggle and squeeze him tighter, and he pulls back a little.
"Good morning." He softly smiles. "Turn around." He says.
"What?" I giggle.
"Turn around." He spins me and he tells me to cover my eyes. I do, and I hear him step to the back porch and back inside. "Okay. Turn around." I let my hands down, and slowly turn. He's holding a bouquet of roses. I gasp.
"Samuel.." I whisper, putting my hands over my mouth. He smiles at me and walks over.
"I thought you would like something nice, since last night was a little rough." He looks down at me, face slipping into sadness.
"Sam." I move my hands from my face to his, holding his cheek. "Thank you." I lean up and kiss him. "I love you." He smiles and leans in more. Kissing him always sent my body into a frenzy. Feeling tingles, butterflies. I pull away smiling.
"You like them?" He asks. Though he shouldn't, I will always love anything from him.
"Of course i do." I grin. I take the flowers from his hands and put them to my face, inhaling the flowery smell. I look back up to him and smile.
"I love you." He leans down and kisses my cheek. "You deserve everything." He whispers, tucking my hair behind my ear. The simple acts of affection always make me fall even harder for him. The tucking of hair, the sweet kisses on the cheek, the gentle squeezes when he holds my hand.
I walk over and set the flowers in a vase and I hear little steps walk into the kitchen. We both turn and see Eden rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"Good morning sunshine!" Sam picks Eden up and she lays her head on his shoulder. His smile drops. "You feeling okay?" He asks her. I walk over and lay my hand against her cheek.
"You feel warm love. Do you feel sick?" I ask, and she nods slowly. "Why don't we go rest some more." I softly smile at her and she nods again. Sam carries Eden to her room and I follow. He tucks her in, and she pulls to covers to her chin.
"Sammy?" She croaks.
"Yes sunshine?" He sits on the bed next to her.
"Can you make soup later?" She asks.
"Of course." He softly smiles. "When you wake up, you can have some soup, and me and mama will hold you until your all better. How does that sound." She smiles and nods. "Alright. You get some sleep." He leans over and kisses her forehead, her eyes closing. We leave the room and walk back into the kitchen and I notice the worry face he has.
"She's okay. She's just probably going through a grow spurt." I rub his shoulder, hopping that it will calm him.
"Does that happen?" He asks. "Fevers and grow spurts." He follows.
"Sometimes." I answer. He nods and gets back into making breakfast.
"What kind of soup does she like?" He looks over at me.
"Potato." I smile.
"I don't know how to make that one." He chuckles.
"I'll help you." I lean over and kiss his cheek.
"Thank you." He smiles down at me.
