My lips curved into a smile while staring at the dazzling diamond on my finger. It seemed so beautiful there, like if it was made just for me. For sure, I'm exaggerating, but my euphoria is deflecting me from reality. This is the first sincere present I've ever gotten.

They send me gifts because I am a Ledesma. I'm presuming it's for the sake of formality.

Aid made a vow to me with this ring. I was exhilarated at the thought.

"Kanina mo pa 'yan tinititigan." Aid sat next to me on the canopy beach chair, placing the fresh coconut juice he had ordered for the both of us on the deck.

I adjusted the angle of my sunglasses to conceal my eyes from the sun.

"May gusto ka pa bang gawin bago tayo umalis bukas?" he asked when I didn't say a word.

Right. All I want to do is relax and watch the waves slam on the coast. It's relatively quiet in here. Ayaw kong umalis.

"Yesterday, I came across a nice place. Do you mind if we go? It would be a perfect spot if we want to take a picture," saad ko nang maalala ang malaking bato na nakita ko kahapon.

Ngumiti siya at marahang tumango. "Later."

We spent most of the time eating, swimming, and appreciating the view.

"Aid," I called him when we settled down in the sand after capturing some fish.

He glanced at me quickly. "Hmm?"

"If ever we end up together…" That caught his attention. "I want to live here."

Sumama ang timpla ng mukha niya. "We will end up together, okay? There's no if ever, Sian. Tayo dapat."

I chuckled, nodding my head to lighten his mood. "I want us to settle here when we marry and start a family. Malayo sa syudad at payapa lang ang buhay."

"You won't miss your friends?"

"Si Achi lang naman ang kaibigan ko," I answered. "Besides, I'm sure she had become wealthy at that time, so going on a trip wouldn't be a problem anymore."

"Okay, then." He clicked this tongue. "We will build a home large enough to accommodate our entire family. Do you want me to be a fisherman as well? So you'll sell the fish every day at the market."

Natawa ako sa ideya niya. "Hindi 'yan ang ibig kong sabihin. You are exaggerating."

He also laughed. "This is really nice. While peering out over the waves, we discuss about the future. This is the first time I've done something like this."

"Do you see a future with me?" biglaan kong tanong.

His brows furrowed. "Tinatanong pa ba 'yan? You are my future, Sian."

I flashed him a smile and glanced at the scenery ahead of us. We don't know what the future has in store for us. In this world, there are no certainties. I want him to be my endgame.

"Here!" I shouted when we came near to the rock I was talking about.

"Be careful," he cautioned as he assisted me up the rock. He ultimately caught up after.

"I told you!" nagmamalaki kong saad nang nasa tuktok na kami.
