Chapter 32

"Are you ready?" nakangiti kong tanong nang matapos kong lagyan ng pulbo at towel ang likod niya.

She nodded in agreement, apparently excited. Kinuha ko ang backpack niyang nasa kama at sinuot iyon sa kanya. She looks so adorable in a pink cardigan and black slacks. I also threaded her hair.

"Magpakabait ka, okay? Don't give your daddy a hard time," paalala ko sa kanya.

Sunday ngayon at nagpaalam si Aid kung pwede niya bang ipasyal si Tati. May lakad din naman kaming dalawa ni Zoren. We clear up our time so that we can go on a date.

I decided not to be so hands-on with the company every day. Nonetheless, even though I was not in the office, I instructed my secretary to keep me updated. Stable naman ang negosyo kaya walang dapat ikabahala.

Nang makababa kami, nakaupo na si Aid sa couch habang naghihintay. He flashed me a slight smile and looked across at our daughter, who was sprinting towards him to throw him an embrace.

Simula nang magkakilala silang dalawa, parang mas komportable si Tati sa kanya. She can easily explain the problem to him. She has no qualms about venting to him. Naiingit ako minsan pero alam ko naman ang rason ng anak ko. She doesn't want to trouble me because she always believed parenting her alone was difficult. Kaya ngayong nandito na si Aid, pakiramdam niya hindi na niya kailangan umakto na matapang.

"Keep me updated all the time, please," I told him.

"No problem." Nagpakita siya ng maliit na ngiti. "Enjoy kayo sa date niyo."

We had our lives separated for many years, and I am happy to say that we have grown and improved significantly. Sumang-ayon kaming dalawa na tanging si Tati na lang ang ugnayan namin.

I smiled. "Bring her before dinner. Magluluto raw si mommy. Kung gusto mo, dito ka na lang rin kumain."

"No, it's okay. May lakad din ako this evening kaya talagang maaga kong maihahatid pabalik si Tati," he responded, looking at his wrist watch. "Can we leave now? I'd like to spend more time with her."

"Yes, sure!" I exclaimed.

He decided to lower his body to the same level as Tati. "Come on, little rockstar, wish your mommy goodbye."

Lumapit si Tati sa akin at itinaas ang dalawang kamay para magpabuhat. I scooped her up and planted soft kisses around her face.

"Have fun, my love."

She graciously nodded and showered my face with kisses. She embraced me passionately before I placed her down.

"Can you say hi to Tito Zoren for me?" She requested, staring up at me.

I offered her a thumbs up. "Yes, Ma'am!"

Pinanood ko silang sumasakay sa kotse ni Aid. Tati glanced at me again and waved her hand. I reciprocate the gesture. Ngumiti lang ng tipid si Aid bago pumasok sa sasakyan.

Nang tuluyan na silang nawala sa paningin ko, bumalik ako sa loob para maghanda sa date namin ni Zoren. Sobrang tahimik ng mansyon. Nasa spa si mommy habang may duty naman si Kuya.

I changed into the dress Zoren had bought me the day before after having a shower. It was a halter neck strappy royal blue dress. I looked through my jewelry and selected to use the silver round earring and diamond-studded necklace. We'll be dining at a five-star restaurant, which explains my clothing.

Gusto ko sanang simple lang ang suotin pero memorable ang araw na ito para kay Zoren dahil first date namin as a couple.

Napatingin ako sa pintuan nang may kumatok doon. Sunod kong narinig ay ang boses ng isa sa mga kasambahay namin.
