Kylie

A sigh escapes from my lips as I stare back at the mirror. I fixed the last bit of my hair and now I’m just staring at the mirror.

I hate you.

“Ok, here we go…” I mutter to myself and pace towards the hall.

Becca, my best friend, is staring at her phone, leaned to the wall as I walk in. Her russet brown eyes dart up to me as she hears my steps.

“Ready?”
“Yeah.”
“You sure?”
“It’s been years now, I think I’ll be ok.”
“Let’s go then…”

The fabric of my long sleeved shirt and jeans are slightly stinging the holes and healing wounds that are written on my skin.
But no fabric could ever reach to the deepest wound in my mind.

You’re going to leave… don’t…

My name is Kylie and well, I’m not that interesting. I live here in California, in our apartment in like, the worst neighborhood ever.

Becca is my best friend. Or, only friend.
After tomorrow, she’s moving away to start a new life in Oregon. I don’t really know why just Oregon but whatever. Point is, my only friend is moving away from me!
Panic!

Tonight, we’re going to a concert. Our favorite band Imagine Dragons are playing. We do it to spend one last day together before she moves.
We also have VIP tickets to end this night in a even better way ever!

But that’s not the only thing that makes this night special.

As I watch the city lights pass the window of her car, I have one thought in mind.

“Does he remember?”
