Cato POV

Today was the reaping. I never pay attention to what Jeremiah Wheatherbee has to say about the history of the hunger games. This time when he finished and said, "Ok this time we're having boys go first." He shuffles his hand around to create what he must call suspense cause he's wiggling his eyebrows and plucks a piece of paper out and says the name. "Jackso-" he starts but I cut him off by screaming, "I volunteer as a tribute!" I get a few surprised looks from girls that seem to like me and I proudly walk up the stage.

Before I knew it, my best friend, Clove Watson was stepping up to the platform too.

"I pronounce to you the............." I cut off what Jeremiah has to say. All thinking about in crying out in victory as I stab the last tribute in the heart.

I smirk and board the train.
