"Mom!" He clutched the arm that held him tightly. He cried and sobbed. What will happen to his life now?
"Don't worry, baby. Everything will be fine, I promise. We're here!" She tightly hugged his head to her chest and whispered.
What do they know? What are they hiding from him? How did that freak know their surname once he met his dad?
Werewolves? Packs? Hidden societies? Rules? Markings?
It's like fantasy. Those documentaries a lot of freaks documented years ago and made a big fuss about witnessing real werewolves.
What happened to those people? Are they deemed crazy?
"Uff!"
"Sorry! Was it too hot?" His mom fixed the water's temperature and poured some shampoo on his head. "Hot water relieves stress, hm?" She washed his hair and kissed his forehead.
For some reason, he could feel her anxiety emitting around her. Is she worried about him because he's got himself in big trouble? "Mom, what did they mean? Did you know? Dad. He's…"
"Hun, you'll know everything eventually, so calm down and stop thinking about it for a moment."
"How is that possible..? How could you accept… How can that be real? W-we used to play werewolves on Halloween. It's not even Halloween yet, haha." Killua wiped his face and sniffled.
"Killua…" his mom faltered and continued bathing him silently.
"How…"
"The world is big, that's why." She mumbled. "With every time you dare cross the borders of something, you'll find a new thing that you never expected could exist."
Killua looked at her. His eyes felt hot and brimming with endless tears.
"Do you really believe that only humans exist in this big, big, universe?" Killua sniffled and looked at his mom's black eyes piercing his mind. "Creatures like animals exist, they're living things. Dinosaurs once existed, too. We only believe what we see. You never met werewolves, but now you did. Because they exist like the creatures and animals you always see."
Killua couldn't take his eyes off his mom. Sudden realization hit him like wildfire. The way she said it is very logical. "How do you think the topic of werewolves is even a topic? It must be someone out there who met them and spread it out, but since it's rare to meet them and see them, it became a legend." She smiled, "I'm not saying that every legend is true by the way."
Killua looked down at the water and his body underneath. "Ah…" He sniffled, however, his mind was finally content. He can go with what his mom believed for now. "Thanks… Mom." He mumbled so faintly that he pondered if his mom could even hear him in such a low voice.
She rubbed his neck where Gon bit him. "It must've hurt…" Killua nodded. "Don't worry, it will only leave small moles, no scars included."
Killua nodded.
What will happen to him now? His mind is a little clearer. He now understands that he's different. Will he be shadowed by his friends if they knew? Can he even tell them?
He's sure it's one of the rules to stay silent. Secrecy laws and all that.
What would Ray say? He needs to meet up with him. If he can tell someone, he wants to tell his boyfriend.
But what if Ray suggests for them to run away together?
Or what if he blew his cover out to his buddies? No, no, Ray would never stab him in the back.
