It is the same place.

Killua looked around his surroundings and fell a step behind Gon. The sky over them was illuminated by the stars and the moon. Killua could see everything. He looked at the trees casting their dull shadows on the grass.

The sound of night crickets echoed in rhythm with frogs' croaking and the purling of water.

The sudden hoot of owls startled him, so he tugged the corner of Gon's jacket to keep himself closer. The alpha tossed and pushed the long foliage, so it wouldn't hit him or Killua in the face as they walked deeper into the darkness.

Killua wouldn't mistake this place for anything; it is the place that he and Gon went to the first time they sealed their promise. Instead of going to meet the pack that day, Gon decided to show him his favorite place. Aka, the lake. However, it wasn't that late when they went there. Everything seemed extra frightening at this moment.

Then, they halted next to the huge rock they once climbed.

Sudden pressure enveloped the place. It emitted a tune that whispered danger and swayed perfectly with Killua's fast heartbeats. He recognized this pressure instantly.

Pheromones.

Is it coming from Gon?

He stared at Gon's back, barely making out the shape of his muscles under the jacket in the dark. "Gon?" Killua whispered and Gon let out a shaky breath upon hearing his name.

His shoulders shook lightly. Killua could only make the lines of his shoulders when they tensely rose to his chin. "It is your last chance to back out, Killua." Gon muttered, "Once we climb this rock, there would be no way back. You must be punished after."

Killua got closer to Gon. He had a strong urge to nuzzle into his back and feel his warmth. It was something so genuine without a logical reason.

Killua kept asking himself why he was coming so close to Gon, but his body and heart begged him to come closer and be under Gon's protection. He couldn't fight the weird urge that had no reason behind it.

He just wanted it. He wanted to feel safe.

"I won't back out after coming this far," Killua muttered and nuzzled his face into Gon's cold back. His body faintly vibrated under Killua's touch before instantly calming down.

"Alright, but you have to know my pack and I are not weak. If you—"

"Let's just do it." Killua's knees buckled and hit each other. He had an urge to leave everything and run back home with Gon. He doesn't need anything else to shake his dedication further.

The whole thing is scary enough already!

Then, Gon turned. He clutched Killua's shoulders and squeezed them. The grip was strong, but not painful; it is the one that comforts you in dire situations. "Before we go there, promise that you'd trust me."

Killua admired Gon's goldish gleaming eyes under the faint moonlight. His eyes glistened with emotions and the moon was only a background effect that lit and bolded Gon's freckles and dark eyelashes.

His heart throbbed, but he nodded. "We talked about it before," Killua replied in a low pitch, "I already trusted you with my life when I decided to come here with you…"

"Great. You should keep that trust until the end, Killua." Gon's voice was deep. He spoke with emotions and Killua received them like a letter. "Trust me." He said it again and it was aiming for his heart. It went deep, echoed in his ears, and sunk into his throbbing heart, forming a seal. So, he nodded.
