Antoine and I are talking about making our relationship public soon. It looks as if we have nothing to be scared of. A lot more people came out since the new law made its apparition. It's a new day. A new world with endless possibilities, when not long ago we were fighting for our lives and our freedom.
I take a walk with Beebe to the Nebula Pond, not very far from my place. She likes to see the galactic scenery and the nice trees. We stop at the the bench for a couple minutes to drink our white hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Audrey: Mommy, why don't we see Babe more often?
Crystal: He must be busy I suppose...
Audrey: Too busy to see us?
Crystal: Do you want me to invite him over someday?
Audrey: Yes, yes, yes, please.
I know someone who's not gonna be happy about this. But Beebe will be.
Audrey: Mommy can you put some music on?
Crystal: What would you like, some Dora?
Audrey: Ewww no mommy put something relaxing.
I just start laughing. Sometimes I look at her and I see a grown up. I put something mellow and she doesn't like it.
Audrey: That's not relaxing or good. Play the type you and daddy listens to.
I look at her for at least four seconds before I realize that she wants some trance music. What four year old wants to listen to trance? I mean I remember my dad listening to Darude's Sandstorm but I was a couple years older. I play ''Endless World'' by UDM, the song I always call Dreamland's anthem, and she just lays down on the bench completely like it's break time. She's so funny.
Crystal: Do you want a granola bar with that?
Audrey: No, I just want to relax and lose myself to the sound of the music.
Crystal: That's my girl.
I lay down next to her and close my eyes. It's not often that I get to spend some quality time like this with my daughter. We should do this more often.
Audrey: I love you mommy. Big like the galaxy.
Crystal: Awwww. I love you too, Beebe.
I give her a big hug. I offer her some chocolate with peanut butter inside and she devour it in less than thirty seconds. Again, that's my girl. We slowly walk back to our place, enjoying the scenery on the way. When we get home, Antoine is already there with his usual costume so that Beebe recognize him, waiting for us at the door.
Audrey: Daddy!
Crystal: Hey, your majesty.
Antoine: Where did you girls go?
Audrey: To the Neboolo pone
Antoine: Ah, I see.
Crystal: Come on in.
We telepathically agree that it's time we tell Beebe the truth about our relationship. He makes the first move.
Antoine: Beebe, mommy and I want you to know that hum... we... are a couple... we are together. We are in love.
Audrey: Cute. Okay. Can I go play with my dolls now? I really miss Linda.
That went pretty well. She goes running into her room like nothing happened. Antoine takes off his mask and gives me a big kiss.
