Dreamland (Includes the Sequel)

The Sequel: Chapter 2

May 15, 2041

Today, we are celebrating a birthday on the Moonlight beach. The birthday girl smiles but she doesn't seem to be truly happy. Just like Antoine and I in our marriage lately. Behind the scenes, it is not always lovey-dovey anymore. I mean, something has shifted in the past few weeks. But as a family, we got to stay strong. I give the presents to the birthday girl. 

Melody came to the party too. She is pale like a ghost. Fortunately, she received good news. Her cancer is decreasing in size. Babe is the party DJ, of course. He plays '' Hallucination - Navos ''  Remix by Regard, Years & Years. As soon as he switches to country, Antoine goes up to the music station and tells something to Babe to make him change the song immediately. I can see Antoine giving an evil stare at Babe. Beebe goes in the water, seemingly disturbed by something. I join her. 

Crystal: What's going on, Beebe? 

Beebe: Did you notice it? Dad and Uncle? 

Crystal: You know how they are... brothers... 

Beebe: Mom, is there something you're not telling me? 

Crystal: Just focus on you, Beebe. Okay? 

Beebe: ...

I wish I could tell you I'm still at the Moonlight beach with Beebe, looking at the sunset, but no. There is a big quarrel here at the hotel. I'm not sure if Antoine is more mad at me or Babe. 

Antoine: How come I see you two kiss... ON CAMERA? I HAVE TO LEARN ABOUT YOUR AFFAIR ON TV. All this time I thought you were in Germany or something. No wonder you wanted a ''break'', Crystal. 

Crystal: This is not what it looks like, Antoine... 

Antoine: That's what they ALL say. You don't love me no more? I always knew in the back of my head that you still loved Babe. 

Babe: You love me? 

Crystal: I never said that. Antoine, I love you but I'm fed up of your behavior. 

Antoine: What right did you have to kiss a married woman anyway? 

Babe: I thought you two were parted ways... 

Antoine: Someone should learn to shut their mouth. 

I have never seen Antoine so angry before. Babe starts crying. 

Babe: I never meant for this to happen... but I... I can't help how I'm feeling. I wish I could just crush my heart to not feel anything. I'm a piece of shit. All this money, this fame, but what I really want I can't even have it. As they keep saying, money doesn't bring happiness. 

Antoine: Okay, that's enough crying. 

Crystal: Antoine, that's your brother. Be nice. 

Antoine: Be gone, already. Shoo. That's my woman. He's also your ex, I want him gone A.S.A.P. 

Crystal: We have not seen him in years! 

Antoine raises his fist in the air to scare him and I put myself in front of him. 

Crystal: You hurt him and you lose me for good. 

At the same time, Brittany comes in with some sweets. Her face drops when she realizes it's not a good time. 

Babe: You! Why did you tell me... 

Brittany: What's going on, care to explain to me first? 

We explain to her the whole situation and she says she feels bad for being the reason behind the misunderstanding. 

Brittany: I have an idea. It might not please Antoine... I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not but... did you guys ever thought about polygamy? 

Antoine: Never. I could never share my girl. Especially with that DJ who probably fucked everything he could. 

Babe gave him a cold look. 

Babe: It is not my favorite idea, but honestly, I would be in. I just want to be with her. 

I start laughing at the idea of Babe and Antoine having threesomes. There's no way. 

Crystal: Not for me. 

Antoine: Case is closed. It's a no. 

Babe starts crying again. I can't help but give him a big hug. 

Crystal: I'm sorry. I can't do this to Antoine. 

Babe: But I keep on asking you over and over again: do you still love me? Crystal... 

Crystal: We haven't seen you in years, Babe... 

Babe: Well, for me those years didn't change a thing. 

Antoine: Okay, Crystal, should we head back home now? We're good now. 

Crystal: Are you nuts? 

Babe: Okay, I'm gonna leave you two to talk privately... 

Brittany: Me too... sorry... 

Antoine and I talk and repeat the same things over and over again, but it just doesn't go anywhere. He ends up leaving, angry. We had the biggest fight ever. And now I'm hungry. I want to talk to Babe, but he tells me he already left for the next flight. That was quick. I crash on my bed, crying. He looked so sad. I wish he would have stayed longer. 

You know what? Fuck this. I don't have a job anymore. Antoine is being an asshole. Beebe is an adult now, I'm going to earth for a few days. I'm gonna go find Babe. To make sure he's okay, at least. I just miss him. I text Brittany to find out the details. Curious as she is, she must know his address. Antoine won't be happy about it but, who cares? 

May 24, 2041 

I am finally on Earth, back in Canada, but in Toronto. Now, I've got to find where he lives. I don't really know the place. I'm usually scared to venture some places alone, but I'm doing it for him. I have his address on a piece of paper. According to internet, he plays tonight at a nightclub in town. I can show up there too. Maybe I'll do that. 

At the nightclub, I see him from afar, on the stage. It brings back some memories. He's playing my favorite song, ''Prada'' - Alok remix from Casso, D-Block Europe and Raye. This puts a huge smile on my face. I start dancing. There's a woman with spiky green hair that keeps on surrounding me. She's sending Lgbt vibes. But I'm married. I'm just here to see my friend. 

Lady: Hey hot pie, I could devour you tonight. 

Crystal: I'm married. I'm just here to see my friend. 

Lady: That's too bad. 

Shish.  

Babe play a lot of good songs, old and new. I try to go closer to him so that he can see me but it's packed. I can only go close to him when the show is over. A guy I've never seen before reaches him before me and grabs him... only to give him a kiss. My stomach hurts. What's going on? I thought I didn't have any more feelings for him? Or maybe I'm just jealous... I just want my piece of cake. Right? How come I have a little tear dropping off my left eye? 

I feel a little tap on my right shoulder. I turn around and see Antoine standing there, angrier than ever. 

Antoine: All these years passed together and you waste them by cheating with my brother? Seriously, I have to come here and find you on Earth. 

Crystal: I miss him. We were best friends, remember? 

Antoine: I thought you two didn't even see each other for several years. I thought it was in the PAST. You haven't moved on from him, obviously. Maybe you two belong together, after all. 

He just leaves, like that, without saying another word. 

Here I am, single and broken-hearted by two guys at the same time.
