Chapter 9: Dirty Secrets

Antoine: I guess this is it...

Crystal: Yeah... 

Antoine: Before I walk you back home, I gotta ask: You're not going to tell anyone, right? Like, no one. 

Crystal: I'm not. 

Antoine: Same. Those dirty secrets are for me and you. And are we, like... 

Crystal: Let's take things slow, okay? I mean we shouldn't even do this. What do you think? 

Antoine: What I think? I think we should do what we want to. I wanna see you again. I like spending time with you, Crystal. We'll keep in touch? 

Crystal: Of course. 

Antoine: You'll add me on Facebook! 

Crystal: I will. Okay I really have to go now. 

Antoine: I don't want you to go. 

Crystal: My family is coming for a visit. I don't really have the choice, baby. I'm really sorry, it's not because I wanna leave you.

Antoine: Oh okay then. Let's go. 

We take a secure pathway to get out of the castle basement. Antoine and I part ways by the stairs, so no one sees us together. Before I go, he grabs me by the waist and pulls me toward him, giving me a long and passionate kiss. 

Antoine: Goodbye baby, see you later. Take care! I-I-I-Lov'...

I start walking away with tears falling from my eyes. When I arrive in my bedroom, I let myself fall on the bed. What did I just do? It's not even my style. I'm not ready for this kind of ''adventure'', or should I say danger. I don't even know how to tell him how I feel about this. He asked me to add him on his private facebook account, but I don't even dare to. I suck at doing the first moves. I know I shouldn't wait for him to do it. Okay, play the independent girl and at least wait a few days. That's what my mom would suggest. He's the man of my dreams and I like him so much, but I'm just not ready for this kind of thing. I'm so insecure and broken. I'm not even sure what he really wants. He might be using me, like the rest of them. It's not like it's going to end up in a real relationship anyway, he's a Darkanen. I thought I was ready for a love story, but this man is my twin flame and also a Darkanen, it's not just a regular affair. The more I think about it, the more I cry. My curly hair is so messy, my mascara is smudged up from the tears and my hangover breath is gross. Ewwww. I clean myself up before my family arrive. 

Mom Elisa: Oh, someone looks tired. I bought you a coffee. It's English toffee. 

Crystal: Thanks mom, just what I needed. Where's dad? 

Mom Elisa: He's talking with the king. 

I almost spilled my coffee. 

Crystal: WHY? 

Mom Elisa: Your father wants to put him in his place because apparently ''he's too nice to you''. His words. I told him to calm down, but your dad... 

A few seconds later, here he comes. Dad seems furious. 

Dad: Baby girl, I told you that I was going to protect you. 

Mom Elisa: Okay what did you do? I hope you didn't scream some absurdities at him and made some threats? 

Dad: Mmmm no, not...
