Six Months Later

Its been six months since Thanos. Six months since half the universe was snapped away. The government is trying to get things back to normal. Well... as normal as it can be. But not a lot is being done. How could they change something that not even the Avengers could stop. I've stayed away from them. Im sure who ever is left went there separate ways. Its just a too much painful reminder.

I spend my days going to the gym. Im there 6am to almost 3 pm. I have to let all the pent up anger out, I've tried taking it out by using my powers but its not the same as doing it by hand. Everyone who still comes or works here knows to just leave me alone. Guess it's written clearly on my forehead, so they let me just be me.

I punch the bag that is in front of me with my right hand before swinging myself around to round hose kick it. It swings violently as I take a water break. I might have used a little extra power into that kick. As I take a gulp from my water I see in the corner of my eye a dark skin man watch in wonder at the swinging bag.

"Never seen that before." He says as he sets his bag down next to mine.

"That a woman can kick ass?" I scoff as I turn towards the bag grabbing hold of it to make it still before doing a set of punches.

"No... trust me ive seen woman kick guys ass that are twice there own size. I meant how much anger you put into that kick. Looked almost like the bag did something to offend you." He says as he wraps some badges around his own hands.

"Just imagining someone in its place." I huff as I look down at my own hands. I don't bother wrapping them up, I prefer to feel the pain. Reminds me that this isn't a dream.

"You lose someone?" He softly asks as he hands me an extra roll for my hands.

"Yea found out Santa Clause isn't real." I scoff as I ignored his gesture.

"Sorry didn't mean to offend you. I know everyone lost someone. Don't mean your alone." He says as he walks over to another bag for himself.

I sigh as I grab hold of the bag in front of me. I lean my forehead on it closing my eyes shut.
"No... Im sorry. Your right, I'm not the only one who lost someone. I don't need to be such a dick about it either." I look up to see him already staring back at me with a small smile and a understanding face.

"It's okay. We all grieve differently." He nods turns back to his bag and I do the same.

For the next hour we keep close to each other for some odd reason. It was silent between us but it seems we both agreed that this silence was better than being alone.

For the next few weeks it was the same thing. Ill get here at the gym early, he'll come in two hours later and then we both worked out with each other, and leave at the same time. Not many words were spoken throughout our sessions , but we were both fine with it. When we worked by ourselves, and if either one us started to get to caught up in our heads, the other would just put a calming hand on our hands or back. Just a sign that we weren't alone.

One day as we were packing up. I looked up at my gym buddy and realized I didn't even know his name.
"Hey..uhh I just realized that I don't even know your name." I called out to him as he took a sip of his water.

" Hoskins. Lemar Hoskins." He grins as he holds out his hand out for me to shake.

"Well Lemar, I'm Y/n Ba-... L/n. Im Y/n L/n."I couldn't even say my last name. It just brought up too much memories, which brought pain.

"You good?" He asks as he laid a hand on my shoulder. He saw how quiet I got when I was going to give him my last name.

"Yea.. Uhh I don't know about you but Im starving. Care to join?" I asked as I picked up my bag I turned to look at him to see him already with his bag.

"Thought you'd never ask. I was starting to think that you didn't eat and only came here to scope out fresh blood." He tentatively jokes. I give out a small chuckle as I shook my head.

"How you know I wasn't going to try to suck your blood for dinner?" I quickly quip back. He hold his throat in mock scared, making me smile as I walked ahead of him towards the exit.

"Ahh... she got jokes! Can't wait to hear what comes out next!" He says as he grabs the door for the both of us. I throw my head back in laughter as we walked towards a sub shop.

It felt good to smile again.
