"THE HUNTER BECOMES THE HUNTED"
MAYBE THE carelessness of Lisa's agency is the reason why it all came to this, if only they had limited her human contact and wandering after missions then she wouldn't have ended up being so curious about what the outside world was like, or maybe if they had brainwashed Lisa on a very different and thorough method then her perspective of humanity would've never given her the chance to even feel something about them other than anger.
Lisa was never taught to feel guilty, she and her fellow assassins are ordered to eliminate all targets mercilessly no matter how much they beg for their lives in desperation. A quick and unexpected death or a slow and painful one, if the clients request it, they perform it to their satisfaction.
From the moment they were brought into the agency, they were no longer considered human because multiple deviations would be their price to pay if otherwise.
Yang was considered the king of the criminal world, despite his obvious crimes for contract killing he somehow always gets away with it that even the government can't get their hands on him. That was long ago of course, since he considered his and the agency's safety he had to make his every move incognito. Now, the government is looking for him ever since he vanished under their noses.
If only they had finally captured him, would everything now be so different?
Every mission assigned to Lisa's name, she always uses the opportunity to explore the world. From boat rides to different continents, to long train rides across a country, Lisa did it all just to accomplish her eliminations and to see the world that was hidden from them.
Like a cat and dog who looks from beyond their home's gate.
Once she was finished with her mission, she would wander around endlessly to her heart's content, it was as if Lisa was a lost child looking for her mother in the busy and crowded streets.
It all started when she was given a mission in Hokkaido, Japan. Coincidentally, preparations for a festival were ongoing when she was tasked to eliminate the city's mayor.
"Come and buy our kitsune masks! Wear them at the festival this evening!"
The call of the man caught Lisa's attention, she looked at the things hung on the wooden wall and made her walk over to the man's open shop.
"Hello, miss! Would you like a mask to wear at the festival?" Said the man with a huge smile on his face, this made Lisa immediately think that he wasn't hostile which made her lower her guard a little.
"Mask? Festival? What are those?" She asked the man since this is the first time she's ever heard of such things.
Lisa's question surely surprised the vendor, with a chuckle he handed Lisa a mask. "I see that you're aren't from around here."
She nodded in reply. "These are called kitsune masks, people wear them to festivals just for fun! On the other hand, festivals are where we do celebrations! We eat lots of snacks, play games, and watch fireworks together!"
To be completely honest, Lisa didn't understand a single thing about what the man had just said but she knew that this was something that was never taught to them nor even mentioned.
"Kitsune masks? Festivals? Eat snacks and play games? What the fuck are those things? Rituals that humans do? Did I just walk into an open cult? Almost everyone is wearing them...I need to get out of here."
