CHAPTER 1

"IN THE EYES OF THE PREY"

"I DON'T REMEMBER my childhood, I don't know who my parents are, heck I don't even know what life was like before I entered this living hell."

"I don't know what it means but...I just know it, I know something is wrong with me, all of this isn't normal."

"Whenever I ask myself, who am I? Just...who am I? All I could answer to that question is, I am Lisa, Lisa Manoban and I am the world's most dangerous assassin."

Lisa's memory of her childhood was hazy, the Lisa in the past was nothing but inexistent. The only memories that came clear to her mind were the inhumane training that tortured her and her peers at a very young age, all of it cost their blood, sweat, and tears and there was nothing they could do but follow because all of the common knowledge a human must have was taken away from them.

Even the brainwashing was oblivious to them, yet Lisa was starting to wake up from her decade-long nightmare.

"Just a little more, I know I need to do something."

In the times when Lisa was only a child, an infant at that. how fortunate it was for her to not witness the cruel end of her parents. If it were the case wherein she already had the wits of a toddler, such a scene would've left a deep scar on her that'll traumatize her for the rest of her life.

Muffled screams that appeared desperate made the male holding the female at gunpoint sneer and pulled the trigger.

"NO! PLEASE NOOO—" *bang*

The screams that echoed throughout the hallway were finally put to a stop after one shot from a gun, though the screams were no longer heard, an infant's distant weep could be heard from one of the rooms within the intruded home.

"Oh wow, I never knew a bastard like you could have a child." Said the man carrying a gun in his hand, hearing that made the man tied to the chair whimper as he struggled to speak with his mouth covered tightly with a gag.

One of the guards stood forward and asked. "Mr. Yang, should we dispose of Ms. Kang's body now?"

Yang turned his gaze and raised his hand in command. "No, leave it be...better yet, go and find where the baby is and bring it to me."

When Yang's bodyguard turned around to do as he was told, the man tied to the chair began struggling and his muffled screams could only be heard within the room they were in.

"Man...didn't I tell you? You were due last month but how come I never saw you walking through the door of my office? Hmmmm?" Yang gripped his hair tightly in his fist making him lookup.

"Daniel...for fuck sake, you knew very well that money was important, one second I look away and all the money I lent you all went down the drain." Daniel was sweating buckets as Yang cocked his gun and suddenly pointed it under Daniel's throat.

"How pitiful, your wife had to pay the price...should I also include that baby I heard just now?" Yang laughed menacingly watching Daniel shake his head like crazy, witnessing her wife get killed before his very eyes were already enough to make him wish he was dead, what more if it were his child.

After a while, Yang's men came back and one of them was holding a baby in their arms. The baby was no longer crying, Yang looked astonished to see it.
