The last day of summer.

Some people hate it, dreading the start of the new school year and all of its upcoming work.

Some people love it, the next day bringing a new school year with endless opportunities for them to pursue.

Some people like it for the sports, some people like it for the the clubs, some people like it for the people, and some people just feel indifferent about it.

That indifferent person would be me.

I don't mind school, but I'm really only looking forward to it for two reasons. My friends and soccer season. Sure, I'm only a freshman, but I think I have a pretty good shot at making the varsity soccer team.

The reason why I say this, is because my club, EEFC, or Edina Elite Football Club, has had more freshmen make their varsity soccer team at their respective schools than any other club in Minnesota. That's insanely crazy to me.

I've been spending my entire day with Sadie and Morgan, but that's no surprise. The other girl in our little friend group, Maya, has been in Greece the entire summer, so she obviously wasn't able to make it today.

Sadie, Morgan, and I grabbed lunch before spending the entire afternoon at the mall, because we need clothes that are high school ready. Shopping for basically an entire new wardrobe definitely took a lot out of us, considering we walked through all four floors of the Mall of America.

It makes sense that as soon as we got back to my house and lugged all of our bags up to my room, we all crashed on my bed for a solid few hours. What can I say? Being a teenage girl is difficult, especially when you're starting high school.

If things tomorrow don't start out perfectly, then the year's already going to be off to a bad start. And that's the absolute last thing I want.

451 North Hennepin Avenue, everyone's favorite house on the street.

Everyone seems to consider my house the "it house", and if I'm being honest, that's a label I'm perfectly okay with. With its white and extravagant exterior, and its modern but cozy and welcoming interior, I can understand why people think that. I'm very grateful I get to live here, it's an amazing house that's given me so many memories I wouldn't trade for the world.

The three of us wake up from our nap when we hear my brothers voice, as it loudly echoes through the house and into my room from downstairs. "Ella, Moran, Sadie, wake up! Dinner is ready!"
