When I wake up, Adam is nowhere to be found. Sadie must've seen my face drop, because she's quick to comfort me.
"El, lover boy had practice this morning, remember? He had to leave early, so he was super quiet. That's probably why you didn't wake up, he didn't want to wake you. He should've texted you, but if he didn't, he said he's going to stop by your house later. Don't worry love. He didn't bail on you, especially on your birthday."
I give her a relieved and thankful smile, and then take a look at my surroundings. Sadie and Morgan have decorated the dorm with balloons and streamers, which makes me feel so loved.

"Guys, you didn't have to!" I gasp, my jaw dropping and tears of gratefulness filling my eyes.
"Oh but we did!" Morgan squeals, jumping up and down in excitement.
"You deserve the world El. Don't forget that." Sadie adds, wrapping her arms around me in a loving hug. Morgan joins the hug, and we all stay like that for a minute.
"I'm so lucky to have you guys, thank you for everything." I say, hugging them tighter.
"Of course, we love you!" Morgan responds. "Come on birthday girl, let's get you ready! You don't want to be late to your birthday brunch, do you?"
I laugh at her as I get up and pick out my outfit. "No I don't. That wouldn't be very fun."

After I had gotten myself dressed, Sadie grabs two boxes, one from her and one from Morgan, and hands them to me. "Happy birthday El!!"
"Guys, you seriously didn't have to-" I start, but Morgan cuts me off almost immediately. "We wanted to. You're our best friend, of course we were going to get you something."
I know I'm not going to win the argument, so I start opening one of the boxes. When I open it, it reveals a gold necklace that has my name on it.
