Scene 1: LA Apartment

This takes place two months after Act 1. They moved to LA one month ago.

Never Bloom Again

Asher:

All the girls in Los Angeles look like you from a distance,

I tried to give you space until I stepped away

From your brain and now I just miss it

All the girls in Los Angeles look like you from a distance

Now I'm kinda thinking that I'll never bloom again

I never thought I'd let myself wear the weak look

But I guess if the shoe fits

There's a million pairs here

String along my soul, dear, 'til my breath feels useless

It's like God fell asleep in

The middle of the day He built my self-esteem

'Cause I'll keep hopping on these planes

'Til we're sharing last names and a softer scene

Instead of tying our breath in knots again

You're chopping it down in heavy seconds

Alone was never easy after you

'Cause all the girls in Los Angeles look like you from a distance

I tried to give you space until I stepped away

From your brain and now I just miss it

All the girls in Los Angeles look like you from a distance

Now I'm kinda thinking that I'll never bloom again

'Cause this is what you've done, you've done to me

'Cause this is what you've done, you've done to me

You're not alone 'til it stings like this

I'll fake asleep until I'm dreaming

I guess you messed me up, I'll pay for this

And sleep it off without your kiss

I never thought I'd let myself give what you took

But I sent it off in gift wrap

Now all that's left here are my lonely words, dear

I'll paint you pretty with my syntax

So, fly out on a Tuesday No, we don't need a two-way

Wait, what am I doing to me? I'm rolling in the cycle

Regressing back to high school God, what does that say about me?

Instead of tying our breath in knots again

You're chopping it down in heavy seconds

Alone was never easy after you Instead of waking me up at 4 AM

I'm wishing I was home again Alone was never easy after you

Now all the girls in Los Angeles look like you from a distance

I tried to give you space until I stepped away

From your brain and now I just miss it

All the girls in Los Angeles look like you from a distance

Now I'm kinda thinking that I'll never bloom again

'Cause this is what you've done, you've done to me

'Cause this is what you've done, you've done to me

You're not alone 'til it stings like this

I'll fake asleep until I'm dreaming

I guess you messed me up, but I'll pay for this

I'm sleeping off without your

All the girls in Los Angeles look like you from a distance

I tried to give you space until I stepped away

From your brain and now I just miss it

All the girls in Los Angeles look like you from a distance

Now I'm kinda thinking that I'll never bloom again

Ensemble will be creating the LA scene, and singing backup vocals. Sam comes up behind him halfway through to listen

Sam: Hey

Asher: Sheesh you- got to be louder when you're walking up behind me, or something, you scared the shit out of me

Sam: Sorry, I didn't want to interrupt you.

Silence

Sam: You still feel bad about what happened with Jasmine?

Asher: I feel... I don't know how I feel. I feel like shit, that's what I feel like

Sam: Well, we've only been here for a month. Give yourself some time.

Asher: A whole month. And we have enough for rent?

Sam: We have enough. We had enough yesterday, the day before that, and we'll still have enough tomorrow when you ask me again.

Asher: Okay, okay. Just making sure.

Sam: Hey

They look at each other with extreme intensity.

Sam: We can do this. We've made it through our first month, and that is the hardest one.

Asher: Yeah. Yeah, we got this.

Sam: We do got this. But we should get going to work.

Asher: I don't want to...

Sam: Jawn and Travis are working today.

Asher: ... Fine. But I still don't want to

Sam: Stop being such a baby

Asher: Make me

Sam has his back turned to Asher as he's walking off, so he doesn't see how terrified he looks after saying that. Sam is already walking of as he says

Sam: Bet

Asher has clear gay panic on his face, and the stage goes black
