NOW
"Help, please, help us!" They screamed until their voices were raw and striped, they screamed until they had no voice left to scream with. They pounded on the cages, until their hands were bloody and sore. They kicked at the doors, at the walls, they pounded so hard that their whole bodes ached with pain, agonizing pain. They knew what was coming, well they assumed what was coming. Three people had been taken and didn't come back. A final cry of defeat was brought out of them that only made their next victims shake with terror. But Sandra made it further than the rest. They didn't hear her final scream of pain when the hammer jutted its way in her head. They didn't see the pain and horror in her eyes as life slipped away from her. They didn't see the blood spill out of her and the color drain from the face as her blank eyes starred into the sky.
"Help" Trevor whimpered as he slowly banged his hand in a steady beat against the cage.
"Shut up shut up shut up" the voices barreled through the heavy doors like a wrecking ball. Drake got his face real close to Trevor so Trevor could see the blood and torn skin in his mouth. Drake licked at his lips and smiled at the face of horror and disgust that covered Trevor's pale face. "Shut up" he said quickly "it will soon be your turn, don't worry."
Trevor swallowed down the lump in his throat and wanted to cry out in pain but managed to keep his mouth shut and just stare in horror at the monster in front of him. Drake and Hector ran around the cages cackling while banging pipes and knifes against the cages bars. All the prisoners cowered in their cells afraid for their lives, knowing that one of them would soon be next.
Cassie and Caleb were walking back to their camp site when they were snagged, what a great second anniversary or at least it would have been. Caleb was missing a hand now, he had put up a fight but his fight wasn't anything compared to the monsters he was up against. The blade went partially through his wrist, if it had been a clean cut it wouldn't have hurt as much but Caleb had been trying to wretch Cassie away from Hector trying to save her when the blade broke down into him.
"Stop, stop, stop" Cassie screamed as Caleb cried out in pain dropping away from Cassie leaving her struggling in Hectors harsh grip. "Please let us go" Cassie said tears streaming down her face, her hands clawing at Hector as he dug his fingers deeper into her chest. She felt as though he was trying to rip out her heart.
Caleb lay clutching his hand as it threatened to fall off in the cool breeze. He pushed himself backwards but moved into a tree, trapped, cornered.
"Please, stop, don't hurt him" Cassie screamed still trying to get away, still very unsuccessful. Caleb said nothing as Drake pulled Caleb's hand away from his body and sent the blade soaring through the remaining portion of his hand. He cried out in pain, he weep as blood oozed from him. He attempted to wrap his arm within his shirt, he wrapped up where his hand should have been. The first blade felt of fiery rage and panic. The second was forceful and the man was joyous when it came off in his hand. Drake clutched Caleb's hand in his own and licked the blood that was dripping out of the severed hand. Cassie gaged on her own feet as she watched helplessly.
"No, stop, please" Cassie kept screaming, and screaming unable to say or do anything else. Hectors fingers dug deeper into her that she bleed but she didn't think of herself, she thought of the monsters and Caleb's hand or lack of it. She wept and wept as they gaged them and threw them into the old horse hitch. It had never been used to horses. But it was a good cover and large enough to fit as many prisoners as they pleased.
Trevor watched as Cassie tried to wrap up Caleb's hand in her own shirt, she tried to keep it clean. Cassie didn't know why she bothered, they were going to kill them all eventually. But still she tried to save him, tried to comfort him as he looked up at the blood splattered ceiling, the wall oozing with mold, rot and bodily fluids. Trevor was trying to not think at all. Cassie and Caleb's camping trip was supposed to be for a week. They had only just left yesterday. No one would know what happened to them, they wouldn't even think to look for them.
